    From The Salisbury Post:

    Raiders fall to Trojans

LANDIS - Northwest Cabarrus broke open the game with 4 runs in the 7th inning to grab a 7-3 win against South Rowan.
Andrew Morgan went 3-for-4 at the plate with one run scored for South, and he allowed two runs(one earned) and struck out nine batters in five innings on the mound. He took the loss.
William Van Wieren had one hit and one RBI for South, and Brett Stirewalt had a hit. South(1-2) trailed 2-1 heading into the sixth inning, but NW Cabarrus recorded a home run and went up 3-1 after a fly ball bounced off an outfielder's glove and landed over the fence.

Watauga's Josh Leyshon pitched a brilliant game before throwing a wild pitch with a runner on third in the 6th to lose 1-0.

    West Rowan 9 Kannapolis 7

A pair of 3 run homeruns by Ryan Petty and Brett Bartles of Kannapolis was not enough against the 13 hits and 9 runs of the Falcons.
Petty's dinger came at the expense of winning pitcher Patrick Adams in the 1st after a single and a walk. Bartles touched up relief pitcher Daniel Cauble in the 6th after a single and a hit batsman. Paul Link recovered from a ringing double from loosing pitcher Andrew Mead to record the save. Jeremiah Worthington talled the other score for the Wonders driving in Garret Sherrill in the 4th.
West's big inning came in the 3rd when they scored 4 runs on 5 consecutive hits, capped by a 2 RBI double by Seth Waller and a 2 RBI single by Ryan Wilson. Wilson also delivered an RBI triple in the 2nd. Brian Graham, Adams, and Wade Moore also contributed RBIs. Shane Graham went 3-3 and a run scored.

West Henderson 10, Swain 0. 5 inning game due to mercy rule.

Mike Facchinei, 1-0, threw a no hitter tonite for WH, facing 1 batter over the minimum. 12 k's, 1 walk. Was at 86 on the gun with a nasty 12-6 curveball that he had control of all game. Very strong for 1st outing of the year and 2 weeks removed from basketball.
Hitting for WH, Facchinei was 1-3, but that was a grand slam in the 3rd. Junior Josh Andrews was 2-3 with 2 HR's. Mitchel Pridmore was 3-3 with 2 doubles. Kevin Allen was 2-4.
WH starts conference play Tues against Mountain Heritage.

Charlotte Christian 8, South Point 2

Sophomore lefty Kyle Barthelson started for CC, going 5 solid innings with about 7 K's and allowing no runs. Submariner Brenden Stucky closed it out in the seventh with a scoreless inning. No big hitters for either team. Christian just pieced together a bunch of hits here and there to get their runs.

Christian- 7-0 record....play Richmond Sr. on Thurs....should be a great game.

    East Meck. at Kannapolis

Just for information purposes,,, this game was originally scheduled to be played at East Meck on Wednesday March 12. Due to some type of field problem at East Meck,,, this game has been rescheduled to be played "AT" Kannapolis on this same date. Thanks...

    West Rowan over Kannapolis

rcbbfan, Congratulations to West Rowan on winning last nights game against the Wonders. We knew going in that West has a very fine ballclub and you truly do. We at Kannapolis are young this year but we will not use that as an excuse. Our young guys will be playing every night to win and I'm proud of the way that they fought a very strong West Rowan team last night.

Good Luck to both clubs the rest of the way...

p.s. The pitching of Adams and Link were the difference, in my opinion. Our guys were able to hit the ball, but we had WAY too many stikeouts. Hats off to your pitchers.

    Mooresville-10,,,,, South Rowan-0

Just heard that Mooresville had a big win over South last night. Didn't get any details except that this game was shortened by the mercy rule and South only got 2 hits...
