    Question for Central Cabarrus Folks

Who is the guy you have hitting in the 3 hole? I don't have his name. IMHO he's the best pure hitter in the conference ... by a large margin.

To further clarify this situation. The reported scores may and probably were provided by the Garinger coach who is also displaying a lot of courage and class by reporting scores that places his team in an unfavorable light.

It will remain our policy to report these scores as:

Winner over Loser without providing the actual score. If you feel tempted to post an actual score, expect your post to modified or deleted by the first moderator who sees it.

The players at Garinger play hard and respect the game. We will continue to respect their efforts. If the Observer in it's "infinite wisdom" desires to continue posting the scores in the newspaper, there is little we can do about it, other than set an example.

Winning pitcher Tim Erb mixed his pitches well enough to keep West hitters off stride. Featuring a good CB and getting a generous strike zone Erb threw only 92 pitches in 7 innings.
Hard luck looser Chris McDaniel pitched well but suffered from a lack of offensive out put. Reliever Daniel Cauble also pitched well in his 2 innings of work.
Davie scored 3 runs in the 1st when Zach Vogler reached on a 2 base error, Aaron Hollifield walked, Ted Randolph singled in Vogler, and Andrew McClannon drove in Hollifield and Randolph with a single. Davie's other score came in the 4th when Drew Beck singled and later scored on another single by McClannon.
West scored in the 4th Luke Overcash singled, stole 2nd, stole 3rd and scored on a errant throw. In the 6th West scored when Bryan Graham singled, reached 2nd on a WP, to 3rd on a sac fly and scored on another errant throw to 3rd. Pinch hitter Brandon Bailey scored in the 7th after reaching 1st on a K/WP, went to 3rd on a base hit by Wade Moore and a sac fly by Daniel Cauble.

West pitcher, Paul Link, managed to work 5 strong innings dispite having suffered stomach problems earlier today. Although his FB was not as crisp as usual he kept hitters off stride with a good CB and change up. Peter Allen, after a shaky start, pitched well in his 2 innings of relief. Meanwhile West hitters feasted on North pitcher Jamie Hill. Hill threw strikes but found it difficult to keep the ball off West's bats. Steven Hancock relieved Hill with 2 outs in the 3rd and pitched well over the last 3 innings, facing the minimum number of batters.
West hitters, who have struggled of late, got the sticks going early, scoring 4 runs in the 1st. Bryan Graham doubled, Luke Overcash singled, and Seth Waller supplied the big blow with a 3 run HR. Patrick Adams singled and later scored on a RBI single by Wade Moore. Graham and Overcash both scored unearned runs in the 2nd. In the 3rd, Shane Graham and Link walked and scored on TBI singles by Chris McDaniel and Bryan Graham. McDaniel later scored on an RBI single by Waller.
North scored in th 6th when Steven Hancock drew a walk, was moved to 2nd by a walk to Colby Lewis, and came home on an RBI single by Bryan Corbett.

West pitchers, Patrick Adams, Bryan Aycoth, and Daniel Cauble, combined for 1 earned run over 5 innings to defeat the Raiders. Aycoth picked up his first varsity win. Of South's pitchers, Mike Davis, Cody Livengood, and Allen Bryant, only Bryant emerged un scathed as West bats came to life for the 2nd day in a row.
West scored in each of the 1st 4 innings giving Coach Chris Cauble the opportunity to play 17 players. In the 1st, Bryan Graham singled to lead off the game and was later driven in by Ryan Wilson's single. In the 2nd Paul Link drew a free pass, Chris McDaniel singled, and Luke Overcash walked which set the opportunity for Seth Waller the unload on a Mike Davis offering for his 2nd HR in 2 days, a grand slam. In the 3rd Wade Moore and McDaniel scored on a 2 RBI single by freshman 2nd baseman Garrett Hatley. West scored 4 more in the 4th on RBIs by Wilson, Adams, and McDaniel.
South's lone score came in the 4th when Andrew Morgan crushed a Aycoth CB over the LF fence.

Charlotte Christian beats Fort Mill on 4/5

This game was a battle to the finish. Christian came out early with a 5-spot in the first inning. Fort Mill continued to put runs on the board here and there throughout the game. Charlotte Christian led 6-4 in the top of the sixth and Fort Mill scored two runs on two errors by Christian. Christian pulled everything together with a lead-off double by junior Zach Watson in the bottom of the sixth. Chris Carrara then followed Watson with another double down the third base line scoring Watson easily from second. Christian then led the game 7-6. Senior Brenden Stucky went in and closed the game out for his 5th save of the year. Michael Najaka, Christian's starting and winning pitcher, threw a phenominal game.
