    Ragsdale?

Didn't Ragsdale beat Conley earlier this year? Aren't they both 3A? If they're up 1-0 without throwing their ace, things look awful good. But it's probably a bit early to hand them the state title.

Conley has improved over the course of the season, just like last year.

conley won tonight. i believe the score was 9-4. alex white pitched the last 2 innings.

they will be ready next week or whenever the championship is and i feel sorry for whoever they have to play.

    Conley vs ?

After our game Tuesday night I had a pretty long conversation with SA coach. We both felt like before the playoffs started that one of us would be in the Eastern finals. And we both knew that whoever it was we would be the underdog vs W. Carteret , Southern Wayne , Rocky Mount , CB Aycock or DH Conley. We were talented but very very young. SA is a solid team but lost alot off of last years championship squad. Any of the teams I mentioned above would have had a great chance to win a state championship. Only one could advance though. Look at the close games that Conley had to win to advance. And look at the scores of Ragsdales games as well. Now Ragsdale has their ace on the hill for game three against a North Gaston team that no one seems to want to give any credit to. Hey they must be pretty darn good! Who ever faces Conley pretty much is looking at one loss right off the bat if White continues to throw and hit like he has so far this season. If its Ragsdale the interesting thing will be strategy. Does Ragsdale save Mullins when White pitches and then tries to assure itself of a one game series? The same with Conley? Do they throw White opposite of Mullins? Regardless of who faces Conley it should be a great series.

Good observation K. One exception I would mention would be that RM was also young, so our chances would have been pretty slim vs. the other strong teams on our side of the bracket. Southern Wayne started 8 seniors I think. We started 4 sophs., and 2 freshmen, much the same as you all. We desparately need to get stronger before next year, but I think it will be fun for both of us. You all had a good run, and shouldn't see any drop-off next year. Also, congrats to Jeff, and your other two guys on making the region 3 team. Not enough velo in the arm for JL I guess. He'll give it another shot next year.

    JL

In my opinion he was good enough this year but hey Im not the coach. Im glad Im not because there was some very tough decisions to be made thats for sure.He definitely will be one of the top runners for the team next season. You guys are going to be very good I know who you have and what is coming back. The east 3-a will be so strong next year anyone of 6 or 7 teams could win it and no one would be surprised. I think the Conley vs Gaston or Ragsdale series is a toss up. One thing about Conley is they have Sir Alex. And sometimes when a team has a player like him the other players around him seem to play at a much higher level. Good luck this off season Q and JL I look forward to seeing you guys soon.
