someone else started this thread on the nc preps board, and since it is about my school and legion post, thought I'd try it here:

are there ANY high schools or legion posts in nc (other than albemarle) that are still playing games on an all-dirt infield? everyone else in our conference (hs and legion) has grass infields.

    Dirt Infields

I know of two HS that are still playing on dirt infields. Warren County High School and Louisburg High School.

    AC???

Alexander is all grass now, and last I saw it was a lot of brown grass mixed with bumpy clumps of green. South Caldwell was dirt until just 4 or 5 years ago.

    All dirt?

Wow. The last field I saw at a legion/high school level with all dirt was Legion Field in Smithfield, NC... several years ago.

Mooresville "finally" got a grass infield this spring. They've also added 2 very nice "in-ground" dugouts. Motown is a fine place to play baseball now,,,, maybe except for the hump out in leftfield. If you have a short leftfielder, he will be on the other side of the mountain,,,,,,,,,, trust me. :woot:
