    Equal playing field!!....

....should be what the HS/Federation rules committes focus on.

    I'd start with the umps!

These guys are in way too much confusion/interpretation/discretion.

So one guy calls this a strike, and the next guy calls this obstruction....

......and the best that determine new rules.....lay an egg on...

    1. asst. coaches ?s
    2. uniforms not adhered to because of religious beliefs
    3. under armour being of one color

OK....so what would Marlin do if I were in a voting/adminstration gig?

......I'd go to a game or 50 and then ask every parent, player, and ump what they think....then atleast I'd have some idea of what I was appropriating as "law" in the HS/Fed community.

Most of these numbnuts have never seen a fastpitch game!

    PPPPHHHLLLGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

The coach/assistant coach restriction thing will very likely be an unnecessary factor in many games this year, especially when blue is on a power trip. This rule is way too subjective to be good for the game. Many schools only have two coaches present at games. Guess they'll have to walk on eggshells all season.

Just how often do assistant coaches create problems anyway? This is just something that the powers-that-be in NC have jumped into with absolutely no forethought and no in depth understanding of our game!

The remedy is for the NFHS and NCHSAA offices to be inundated with complaints whenever the rule in invoked. The complaints should come from fans and coaching staffs of both teams present whenever it happens.

This, just like the speed up stuff, is probably originating from baseball. There is no need for it in our game.
