    Safe Journey

    Dear Mr. Ed and Sharkies:

    While it is Shark Week, and we all wish you safe passage back to the great Jersey Shore - we all know that as long as there is one out left, the game is not over. To proclaim "upset of the tournament" after a duck-snort bloop single pushes across a bases loaded Jamaican Tiebreaker --- well, that's just a little short-sighted. But, take the small victories where you can and move along.

    It would have been fun to watch that last half of the ninth inning --- guess we'll all just have to write our own stories and keep dreaming.

    May your paths cross again and Mother Nature allows justice to prevail.

    Cheers and Cheesesteaks!

    gastronomic note

    .. thx for the BBQ suggestions. We sampled Skylight in Ayden on Saturday afternoon. I am something a a BBQ nut and have eaten in Memphis, Kansas City and all over the Carolinas. Skylight is a "must try". I truely unique experience. I give it my highest rating of "as good as I've had".

    I give this tournament a "C-"..........

    I saw games or parts of games at 6 different venues. Most of the playing surfaces were adequate or better. Everything else showed a lack of planning and clearly evidence of penny pinching. No or very limited concessions. It was a tournament that had not addressed the customer, ie the paying public. The price of $10 for a single game was embarassing. The $20 for all games was a deal but many local folks came to see a bit of baseball near their homes.
    But most of all there were major differences between the teams who moved on to the championship round and everybody else. In a word, too many teams were BAD.
    Hope these observations are helpful in future planning. I do not believe the organizers can walk away from this one with a good feeling.
    ...GOTTA DO BETTERguys!..:56::56::56::56::56::56::56:

    Lastly, as much as I hate to say it, the Blue Crew were above average!!:guitar::guitar::guitar::guitar:

    personally I was thankful the concessions were not open thereby allowing us to bring in our own coolers. 104 on Friday was barely livable and would not have been without cold watermelon I could bring inside the gate.
