Great list by everyone......I want to expand on the CAP 6.

The Raleigh area is up for grabs. Especially the CAP 6 4A!! The great thing about this league this year is that Wakefield can win the whole thing "IF" they get in the playoffs. LET ME EXPLAIN........last year the CAP 6 had 3 really good teams. Wakefield, Millbrook, and Wake Forest. Wake Forest went 7-3 in conference and stayed home b/c only 2 teams go to the playoffs. All 3 losses were in extra innings. They split with Wakefield. All three teams lost 3-4 starters. The core of each team is back. Wakefield actually LOST the most b/c they lost Lewter(LHP, Elon) who hit 3rd, Burt(OF, UNC-C) who hit 4th, and their leadoff guy(CF). Wake forest lost 3 starters........2 of which hit 7th, and 9th. Millbrook lost their top 2-3 hitters also.

The pitching staffs on all 3 will be very strong. Dowdy for Wakefield, Drew Taylor for Wake Forest, and BJ Dale and Sam Brown for Millbrook. Someone will stay home again out of these 3 good teams. Anyone's quess who that unlucky team will be. It will come down to head to head match ups.........especially on the mound. The edge in pitching (depth) will actually go to Wake Forest. They have 4 returning pitchers from the varsity last year. Wakefield has one in Dowdy, millbrook has 2 in Brown and Dale..............IMO its a toss up!!!!!!

    Glenn is Dynamite this year

Glenn will definitely contend for the class 3A state championship this season. They return 17 players off last year's team that went 25-4. Expect Glenn and TC Roberson to take the preseason top 2 spots in the state rankings and remain there for most of the season.

This veteran team will have a deadly offense led by senior shortstop Ryan Caldwell. Junior centerfielder CJ Beaty and Sophomore Sensation Chris Jacobs gives Glenn possibly one of the most powerful offensive trios in the state. Expect this team to pile up a lot of runs from homeruns to assist a now veteran pitching staff with a year or two of experience under the belt.

The only question with a team who returns everyone, won 25 games and finished third in the state last season is the leadership of their new coach. Coach Ijames retirement leaves the program to one of his long-trained assistants.

Overall, this is a team that has everything it needs to win it all.

Glenn's returning ace...Jason Bixby should be very strong with a nice fastball, good slider, and splitter that the bottom falls out of.....I think not only will Caldwell and Beaty excel at the plate but I think that the catalyst for the hitting this year could possibly be catcher Kyle Boyan...good stick from the left side and throws very well from behind the plate. He has a good make up for the leader of this squad.

East Forsyth will have the returning pitchers of Jody Calloway, Ben Nunn, and Andrew Flynt....although Ben Nunn will have shoulder surgery he will be able to pitch in March and should anchor the pitching staff after that but until then Jody Calloway, Andrew Flynt, and Ryan Sprinkle will have to soak up the innings for the Eagles. At the plate the Eagles will probably be lead by Alex Starbuck, Brandon Lawson, and Garrett Keener all who were All-Conference last year. The success of the Eagles will depend on Keener and Lawson's capability to get on base....if they get on base and steal bases the Eagles will have something to say on who wins the Metro 4-A this year.

North Forsyth will be very strong with Addison Johnson (4A Metro Player of the Year) on the hill every other game and DJ Mitchell in the outfiled covering ground....North Forsyth should win the conference and make a run at the 4A state title

    Conference: 2-A, Rocky River

Does anyone have any information about the Rocky River Conference? How is Mt. Pleasant looking for 2005?

Lowest on talent they have been in eight years or so. It'll be interesting to see how things hold together there.
