"New Bern: Everyone's been talking about New Bern and how good they are going to be. They are going to be fine, but they need to support that pitching staff they've got with some run support. It remains to be seen if they have to shut everyone down to be successful. Adam Warren will carry that team to states alone. We'll see how far they go."

Not so sure you did your research on New Bern's hitting, thats ok though- like a sniper

    CPC

:xyzthumbs :xyzthumbs The Central Piedmont 4-A Conference will be strong again- good teams, good coaching, good players. It will be a fight to the finish, with very good competition! West Forsyth has always been strong, and even though they have lost a lot of players, don't discount them. Look for senior, lhp, Dusty Snow and senior, Nick Sieg-a -Riz (outfield and pitcher) to dominate for West. Rowan County is known for baseball, even from the little league days and will be good, North Davidson always has a good program, and so does Davie. Head coach, Doug Welch from RJ Reynolds has put Reynolds on the map baseball wise, who up until the past few years has always been known only for their basketball. Look for pitching from veterans Fouchee, Larrimore, and Johnson - hitting and stellar defense from DeRose, Larrimore, and Johnson. The CPC will definitely be a conference to watch come spring!

On the commitment thread NCBBallFan stated he hadn't heard from anyone at Central Cabarrus. I know a little but not a lot, so perhaps someone can help. I know Central Cabarrus is always competitive and what I have observed this fall is they have:

Matt Killan (SR) pitcher who is a player. Good fastball and several pitches. Big and strong.

Ryan Brown (SR) MIF with excellent speed. Gets to a lot of balls.

Jason Auten (SR) OF/IF with good speed. Surprising power with the stick.

Ryan Laboy (SR) OF that carrys a big stick. Also fast.

Justin Brock (JR) pitcher that was on JVs last year. Has good speed on his pitches and should be able to contribute.

These players alone should carry them a ways in the MECA8 but I know they have more. If anyone from CC would like to step in and fill in the numerous holes I have left, or make any corrections, it would be appreciated.

catamount36, how many of those kids who went to the 2002 Little League World Series are at West Forsyth this year? Alex Robertson? Others? Will we see any of them in a Varsity uniform next spring?

You guys seem to talk a lot about 3A and 4A teams. What about the 1A and 2A teams. There are some good ball players/teams out there too. East Rutherford lost a lot this year and may not be the 2A powerhouse of the past. I think 2A will be up for grabs. Any thoughts?

People post about the players they see ... we need more 2A/1A posters on the board filling us in on the other players.

Concerning 2A ..... I think North Stanly will be one of the stronger teams in the west this year. There's a lot of talent out the Albemarle way. East Rutherford has tradition going for them. I believe that they have won at least 20 games for the past 10 years.... I wouldn't count them out regardless.

South Stokes still looks to dominate in the regular season in 1A ball. They need a 2nd pitcher to replace Timmy Smith to go along with Nick Conaway. You can only go so far on one arm and I don't know how much they have in the wings.

West Henderson should rebound after a, somewhat, down year last season. Owen should be very good from up in the mountain region.

.....but ... my knowledge is limited ... fill us in on some detail !!!!!!
