    For all of you in town for the East Coast Firecracker..... I wanted to let you know of an event on Friday night, 7/2/2010..

    The Original 4 man exhibition team; the greatest show on dirt;
    The King and his Court returns to Raleigh for a 4th of July Fundraiser..

    Gates open at 530 pm, game time 700 pm...
    Site: Knights of Columbus # 2546
    Columbus Club Drive Raleigh NC.

    The Court is honored to debut Ms Veronica Wootson-Ross, The Fontana, California, native started ...273 games in her Florida State career at second base and was a three-time All-American from 2004-2007, only the second softball student-athlete to do so. Wootson currently ranks in the FSU all-time Top 10 in 10 categories and holds the current school record for 29 career home runs. In her senior season, she lead the Noles with a .349 batting average, 61 runs, 76 hits, four triples and 35 stolen bases. In the summer of 2007, Wootson was picked up by the Akron Racers and was named the Most Valuable Player and earned the Offensive Player of the Year award in the league. That same year she also claimed a spot on the League All-Star Team.

    The NCSU Wolfpack will also be in the house, as NCSU pitching coach

    Leigh Ann Genetti will suit up and pitch an inning or two for the Court.

    A graduate of the University of South Florida, the former Leigh Ann Ellis was a star pitcher for the Bulls, collecting 77 wins and 633 strikeouts in her final two seasons. As a senior, she set the school record for victories with 43, marking the third best total in the country. Genetti received a bachelor of arts degree in interdisciplinary social science in May of 2004.

    A finalist for 2004 National Player of the Year and a Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America honoree, she twice garnered All-Conference USA first team accolades during her collegiate tenure and took home C-USA Pitcher of the Year honors in 2004. She was inducted into the USF Softball Hall of Fame on November 14, 2008.

    Genetti took the circle for the New England Riptide of the Nation Pro Fastpitch League for two years. She also played on softball’s premier stage, competing with both the USA National and USA Elite teams in overseas competition. Her impressive accolades are no doubt an asset to both the Wolfpack coaching staff and roster.

    The KOC Allstars will have several guest players, sure to make the evening fun...

    Come out and support a good cause. Tickets are $5.00 a person or $20.00 a car load. Hot dogs, Hamburgers and refreshments on sale.

    Heard this weekend that Alexander Central's coach Monte Sherrill will be guest-coaching the opposition to the King & his court, the Generals.

    Rumor is he may even take an at-bat off of Coach Genetti, now wouldn't that be worth the price of admission!!!

    Celebrate the 4th and enjoy the game!!!

    Wish we could have attended...

    ...but we had a pool game at 6:00 at Walnut Creek (1:20 time limit) then had to head over to Buffalo Road Park for our first bracket game at 7:30. Needless to say that game didn't start until just before 8:00 and then went into an ITB.

    Hope we can make it next year!
