:applause: I have known the Bryant Family for the past fifteen years. Watching Ed and Kari's kids grow up has been a thrill for myself and my family. The events that took place recently at East Meck were beyond explaining. All I know, is that Ed's spirit was with his family and friends that night. Especially with his son Taylor (Tate). Not only did Tate hit a tremendous Home Run, but people have failed to mention, that he also had a line drive single down the third base line with his first at bat. Tate was also catching this game, and proceeds to pick off a runner at first base. Then the improbable win. I don't know about anyone else, but I got chills down my back after this game. Ed Bryant is gone, but believe me, his spirit will live on for years to come, especially at his "Field of Dreams".
God's speed to Kari, Taylor, Kelsey and to all Ed's family and friends, you will be missed my friend.

"Some live a full life in a very short time; others live a long time but die empty."

Ed has to be beaming, not just over the home run, but over what a great legacy he left behind in Taylor and the memories of all those times he said "yes" to the words 'Dad, you wanna have a catch?" He made the most of it. Though it may appear to our limited view that his life was cut short, he actually lived a full life, and left a wonderful legacy. That's what makes this story so special. Life is fleeting. Enjoy every moment. I think I am going downstairs to hug my boy!!!

well, I will be giving myself away but once again, I am so touched by this thread...I am Ed's wife, Tate's mom...and that night will always live in my heart and soul as one of the most special nights of my life. From the joy of finally getting those lights turned on, to the huge crowd, to the game itself it was just overwhelming. As ball gets ready to start again, I find myself excited to get back on 'ed's field' (sorry Chet!) and get that baseball connection back with Ed. ladybugs, large birds, etc...Pam Buchanan understands!! Thanks Braves for so eloquently expressing the emotional night last year and thanks to everyone who has said a prayer for us and been there to give us big hugs...its you all that have gotten us through the past year and a half. Ed will live on in the minds and hearts of all who knew him ... and when you see Tate out there this spring you will see a lot of Ed in him...

Thanks Kari for finding the time to respond.....although Ed is an angel...you are his wings!!! We continue to pray for your family and I hope that Tate has an incredible year this year...except maybe against one particular pitcher :)

    WOW!!

Just reading throught these threads again reiterates what I posted back in April... Just to be around great people and to see that not everything revolves around wins and losses on the field, although that is important or we wouldn't keep score. BUt it is the life lessons that we experience that allow us to improve ourselves on a personal level. I hope others have received what I did when I read this the first time as well as the reminder when I reread it today.
