    Dear catcher10,

I'm sorry to inform you, but your picture has been placed at the ticket booth and the security has been alerted to your possible arrival to the EM event. You have been banned due to be being overly loud in your support of Butler...oops, sorry, that was Tyler.

I hope to see you there.

PS- My son WILL NOT be there, so I'm pleading with Glenda for some Chocolate/Peanut butter fudge that I WILL NOT share with anybody....under any circumstances :FO2DIFatWoman03HL:

I love some of these storylines:

Coach Greeson of Hopewell is returning to East Meck as an opponent. The man has meant so much to the East Meck program and I’m not going to enjoy having to Boo him. However, I believe Hopewell is going to use this tournament to get HOT on their march to the conference championship. They are loaded with talent and have had to overcome a few things, but I believe everyone is on the same page. Watch out for the Titan

Coach Koppe at East Meck may be entering his first season, but he is a savvy, experienced coach. His Eagles feature the deepest quality pitching staff in the SW4A and two dynamic hitters in Leighton and David Daniels. This is Coach Koppe’s House…and he doesn’t want to lose.

Coach Cousar at Butler is unique in the sense he embraces the “chip on the shoulder” his teams always have. All the way back to the Alex Gary- Brad Josey (sp) days, his teams always go into a game believing they are going to beat you…and do it with an attitude. I always love watching teams compete against Butler..it’s usually entertaining. Patrick McMahon, one of my favorite players, fits the example of a Butler player perfectly. A little bit arrogant, supremely confident and ready to fight you every pitch and every at bat.

Coach Mennitt at Marvin Ridge is one of a kind. Think of a football coach in a baseball uniform, but don’t believe for a minute that he is not all baseball. A terrific gameday coach, no one knows their players and what buttons to push better than him. I have never met the player that doesn’t respect him. Of course, having a coach that can crush you with a flick of his fingers may cause some to say, “he’s the best!”, but I don’t believe that’s the case. If there were a way to combine the attitude of an Independence player and a Butler player, it would be a Mennitt player. They’ll knock you down, then pick you up. He has truly been missed in the Charlotte area and especially by me. He has a great sense of humor, a great knowledge of the game and can put on a show at a baseball game. Not only his players “get after it’ at a ballgame, but he does, too.

Independence is tired of the “ then there’s Independence” label. Last year’s playoff team is stronger this year and is capable of beating anyone. Cody Starnes (Wingate signee), Dino Psaroudis, Carson Plyler and Brandon Wolfe are bringing their firepower and wanting to use the tournament to serve notice.

It’s late. I’ll discuss Weddington, North Meck and Mt Pleasant teams tomorrow/. All 3 of those teams could win this event.

EDIT: Well I guess you can't win this tournament, but you sure can lose it.

    East Meck Spring Break Tournament

    Braves,

We're waiting for the remainder of your previews for this tournament. I don't know how the games will play out but I do know this will be a fun way to spend Spring Break. I'll be there.

    Dear War Eagle,

I'm so happy that you have son's that can read these posts for you. I was hoping that I would see you last night in what was arguably the best EM win in years. But then they did win, so it was probably better that you didn't jinx them.

I hope to see you during the spring break

    Much love

    Braves

Oh..and I will finish the preview tonight. I'm on break during the day.

I cannot believe I didn't make it to the game. As you can guess, I really wanted to. I wonder what the Clemson guy thought of the game. The competitiveness of the SW4A has to be some of the best in the area, huh?

By the way, I had to get my boys to help me read your post so I could reply... that's what took me awhile!

I am still awaiting your preview and predictions. You don't want to keep your public waiting and wanting...

Thanks to BigAl for this info:

Coach Tyson at Mount Pleasant is an institution in the Cabarrus area, He brought his talents from Central Cabarrus to Mount Pleasant and hit the ground running. Although they moved up from 2A to 3A this year's team is even stronger.

They are led on the mound by Corey Huneycutt (2010) and Anthony Allende (2011)

    Their top position players:

Matt Barrier 3B 2010, all state 2A last year, plays with GBC in the summer

A.J. James (2011) CF but will be the catcher in the East Meck tourney do to injury of former catcher, Perfect game National High follow list, top 1000 2011, played with Dirtbags, now plays with Schaef at CBC, Battle of the Border 2009,
    Rawlings Top Prospect list

Grayson Atwood (2011) LF, 1B, P, Perfect game 213 in 2011 class, top 40 NC, Battle of the Border 2009, (hit the 425 shot) played with The Dirtbags, currently plays with the Hurricanes North

Brandon Burris (2011) SS, 2B, Perfect game high follow list, made State Games in 2009 as a sophomore, plays with On Deck O's

The team is a little nicked up right now, 4 players out due to injury/illness including senior shortstop Dirtbag/SCP player Ethan Ledbetter.

This team is loaded and ready to show everyone that they are one of the best teams in the state.

Coach King at North Meck has had teams that were strong on pitching or strong on hitting, but I don't recall many teams that were big bangers. I think this comment says it all:

"We're not playing small ball any more," Vikings coach Mark King said.
"We're built to hit it hard and hit it far and run. We've got players that can hit 1 through 9 in our lineup. If the situation comes up for us to bunt, we will, but it hasn't come up yet."

Holy Cow, I feel for the pitchers that have to throw against this team. I suspect the wooden fence at East Meck may have some chips in it when NM is done.

    Weddington

And Weddington is playing impressive baseball. Having just taken added Charlotte Christian to their collection of scalps, they come into East Mecklenburg's Showcase ready to show they're a force to be reckoned with.

Its gonna be a great tournament. I can't wait.
