I totally agree with you CougarCoach and Hurdle1. Bottom line..... Dedication by good coaches and loosing players because of daddy ball and the green grass on the other side. Been through all this before and it hurts. Soccer and LAX is easier to grasp.

Alexander Central had their Varsity and all of their JV team dressed out for the games.
The JV team only lost one game during the year to North Davidson in 10 innings ,

    My 2 cents

Played travel ball all over the state. What I see is that the best high school teams in the west are able to play travel ball as a team, where as in the east this does not happen. Most of the more competitive teams in the east are comprised of several different tb teams.

Until the stronger teams in the east, beginnig with 10 and 12 U teams, start venturing out west to play in tournaments rather than staying in the east and playing glorified rec ball teams in weekend tournaments, the trend with the west being dominate will continue. You are only as strong as the competition that you play.

    why?

If this is true..........WHY is it true? why do east teams not arrange for this? you could have a maximum of 8 from same school on same summer / fall TB team, right?

    4 MECK SCHOOLS???

Butler, Providence, Ardrey Kell, N Meck. I don't think I missed any, but these schools made the 4A softball playoffs this yr. From the largest or 2nd largest system in the state. How many did from Wake Co???? If Wake had the same amount or more. Then where is the problem? Lets play some games between the Wake schools and the Meck schools and maybe even throw a Guilford school in the mix also. See what happens then.

    I think...

that you are kind of answering your own question when you are referring to the number of college players from the west vs. the east. I live as far east as you can go and until you get back to the Greenville, Rocky Mount, Raleigh area there are no heavily populated cities.

So if the observation is being made that the majority of D1 players are coming from the west, i.e., Charlotte, Winston Salem, Greensboro, etc., you kind of expect to have the majority of talent where the majority of people live, don't you? My town only has 3,000 people in the winter...300 million in the summer!! :)

Our high school has been here for 11 years and has only produced 2, D1 softball players, but there have been 7 more to go on and play D2 or D3 and of those 9 total, 8 have of them are from the last 5 years. We have a long way to go to catch up, but we're trying!
