I'm ashamed to say that I have never traveled to eastern NC until recently. My travels have taken me to some beautiful towns and cities of NC. I've been to Rocky Mount, Fayetteville, Laurinburg, Rockingham, Greenville and all towns in between.

My question is this: who are members from these areas so I can have you take me to lunch or dinner when I'm visiting :cheer:

Seriously, I'd love to get together and take in a ball game.

I'll be in Fayettenam on Monday

I lied (a little). I did go to New Bern once (that place is beautiful) and I've strayed to Zebulon, but those were for games. I didn't get a chance to spend any time in those towns.

    Here is a start:
    Southerno1--Rocky Mount, Scotland Neck
Coach 27----Stem(that's in Granville Cnty. BTW)
    NCSU82-----Durham
    East--------Salem(just north of Nashville)
    Stretchlon--Rocky Mount

----Note that within this group there are only two that qualify as true easterners(living east of I-95). I hope some others show up as well.

Southerno1--Rocky Mount, Scotland Neck--I thought of you driving through on the way to the Outer Banks

Coach 27----Stem(that's in Granville Cnty. BTW)-- still don't know where Granville County is

NCSU82-----Durham--great; I will be in Durham soon

    East--------Salem(just north of Nashville)--I like East, but I won't be near Tennessee:laugh4:

Stretchlon--Rocky Mount--I knew Stretchlon was there. The next time I come through there, I'll get in touch ahead of time...maybe the 3 of us can get together

Salem is three miles west of I-95. Thats not far enough west to wear a cowboy hat and spurs and eat barbecue with ketchup based sauce. Salem is a booming metropolis of almost 100 residents and can brag of a country store, fire station and church as its only non residential structures.

    what defines east and west?

population? geography? topography? I believe "east" touched on the real dividing line... barbeque! Vinegar based vs. tomato based. Therefore the line should run north to south... better yet, south to north... somewhere around Asheboro at the "Blue Mist" on Hwy. 64.
We may not agree on our "Q" but we can all appreciate the baseball talent one can find all across North Carolina.
Here in Chatham Co., we sometimes don't know where we are. With two 1-A and one 2-A schools we are sometimes in the east and sometimes in the west during the playoffs. In the state games we're in the west. Using the "BBQ" rule though, we're in the east. I'll stick with that...
