Is the ECC only a 2-horse race? Eastern Wayne & C.B. Aycock.

    1. Eastern Wayne
    2. C.B.Aycock
    3. Southern Wayne
    4. Kinston
    Hunt
    Beddingfield

My take on the ECC only my opinion so don't trash me too bad.

    1. Aycock...Only 1 productive senior but solid from top to bottom. 2 above average pitchers and a few unproven ones after that. Defense will be very good.

    1. E. Wayne...Top 4 in line up will be as good as any in the state, question marks after that (if the young guys produce they could be in for a long deep run). Pitching looks a little thin, Hollowell transfered to Aycock, but the infield will be great behind them. These two teams are about as even as they can get.

    3. Hunt...2 junior pitchers that can compete and will keep the team in games. I really like the kid who played CF last year, I think his name is Richardson. Can beat the top 2 on a given day but not enough to stay with them over the course of the season.

    4. S. Wayne...Future looks bright with 3 very good freshmen that should see PT right away. Also capable of upsetting the top 2 on a given day but not consistently. Look out for this young team over the next few years though. Best coach in the area in Trea Mckee, always gets the most out of what he has to work with.

    5. Kinston...Improved but not enough to make playoffs, kids keep transfering to other county schools, not sure what the rules are in Lenoir. Going 2A next year.

    6. Beddingfield...Also going 2A next year they have a good coach but over the last ten years there has been little interest in playing baseball. Have not had a JV team in several years, That makes it hard to compete with the top 4 programs in this conference.

    Wilson Hunt

Key Returnees: Jerome Richardson, Jake Strickland,Zack Lee, Kyle Pittman, & Sam Strickland.
Key Losses: Chris Lamm, Blake Jones, & Justin Nygard.
Pitching will be respectable: Nygard is gone, but Lee, and the 2 Strickland brothers return.
New Addition: Zach Houchins (transfer from Fike)
Tough Conference: ECC has Eastern Wayne & C.B. Aycock (2 Pre-season top tens).
Who wrote this schedule?Schedule includes Eastern Wayne, Wilson Fike, Rocky Mount, Northern Nash, C.B. Aycock, & West Craven. (2 games against each)
Big Question mark? Who replaces Chris Lamm at catcher?

Analysis: If Hunt can survive the schedule, they may be tough come playoff time!

    Ever seen a horse race?

Frist thing that one must do is to look at the horse(s) odds. Never discount any horse in the field. 9 times out of ten. Things will hold true. BUT, there is always the long shot. Never count the long shot out. I alawys put a doolar on each long shot. Never on yet. But, that is why they are long shots.
