There are some "well respected" coaches that do it on a regular basis, but they think it is ok. Some will say that the girls come to them but I know for a fact that is not true in every case. Pay close attention after some of the bigger tournaments and you will see new faces playing for some of these teams.

    Another view

I know first hand about a player moving to another team during the middle of the season but to her defense I don't completely blame her or the other coach. The original team had some controversy on the team and the coach stated to all the players if you don't like the way I do things you need to find another team. She did but the coach wouldn't release her and the other coach played her because no matter what she wasn't going back to the other team for any reason. In mho the original coach shouldn't has said that if she didn't want players to quit her team. I think it was a total of 3 players that quit. It just another view. Everybody not perfect.

    This one hit a nerve

I've been involved in TB for almost 14 years. The practice of stealing players has been happening the entire time.I think we need to remember, there are always three sides to every story (yours, theirs and the truth). Some of the best coaches in NC have been accused of this in the past. We all know how the softball community can be, I have seen players/parents that were unhappy with their current situation state they were recruited by another coach. Although I know it happens every day,we need to be careful with the mudslinging.
If you have been involved at the highest levels of TB for a few years you have probably seen enough for yourself to determine who the predetory coaches are, some even have others who recruit for them. I believe that group to be very small and if the players/parents do their homework, they will be able to regognize the signs. Sometimes when you go into something blind, you deserve what you get.
