Erik Walker Memorial Scholarship Games

    :smiley-patriotic-flThe Erik Walker Memorial Scholarship games will be held at West Forsyth High School on Tuesday June 29. There will a Junior and Senior game. Both Games will be Western Forsyth vs. Mocksville/Davie. The Junior Game will start at 5pm. Senior game right after. Everyone come out and see some good baseball and support a good cause.

    BBQ will be sold, it will be the famous Honky Tonk Pig from Winston-Salem.

    All proceeds from these games goes to help American Legion players next year in college.

    Erik Walker Memorial Night-Western Forsyth vs. Mocksville

    Wow, what a beautiful evening for baseball. We had a great crowd. Post 522 rifle and flag squads came out and particpated in the pregame festivities. They did a 21 gun salute, had flags representing all branches of the armed forces. Sent chills down your spine. Honky Tonk Pig prepared wonderful BBQ sandwiches and we sold everyone of them. There was a big crowd in attendence. The thunder storms flew right past West Forsyth HS, no rain. There were many tributes to Erik Walker throughout the night, both his Mom and Dad were in attendence. His Dad even won the 50/50, of course he gave his half back, so did the winner in the junior game.

    Tonight was about honoring a star athelete that played HS baseball at West Forsyth and Legion Baseball at Mocksville(WF did not have a legion team then) two bitter rivalaries in all sports came together to honor 1 person. Proceeds from these games will be used for scholarship money to deserving American Legion Players.

    Western and Mocksville played an Junior and Senior game tonight, and the winners was, that doesn't really matter, what matters was the compassion shown by the 4 teams that participated in these games.

    Thanks to everyone that came, that gave and that cared.

    Who said American Legion Baseball is dead?
