Did anyone watch the special on ESPN today about Rod? He might be THE greatest big league hitter of all time well at least for his bunting ability and speeeeeeeeeeeed! Like Murcer he was one of my MAIN idols growing up and watching play as a kid... What a stud with the bat and GLOVE!

I agree. Most underrated hitter of all time. I missed the show. I hope it will be on again.

3 of my 5 all time favorite players were Twins: Oliva, Killebrew and Carew

Harmon Killebrew.. hmm I haven't thought of him in a long time, One of my favorite players from the 60's-70's. Thinking of him reminds of the other big guy from the same era, Frank Howard. The guy was a giant.

Can you imagine if the "Gentle Giant" Frank Howard played in the steroid era and participated? They don't make a stadium big enough for some of his shots. He hit a HR in 10 consecutive games.

I remember a story when Howard was managing and Reggie Jackson was challenging one of his players to a fight. Howard marched out of the dugout and told Jackson to go or he would settle it...Jackson said, "yessir!"
