Is the PG Underclass World Championship in Jupiter scouted heavily? I assume not nearly as much as the summer WWBA tournament since college coaches are in school in October.

I don't know if it's called underclass. I think that one is held in Ft Myers. But the Jupiter event is the most scouted event of them all---it's the Granddaddy!!! If we are talking about the same event, then here is my opinion.

Why, because many if not most of the MLB teams send most and for some, all of their scouts to this event. I remember the Dodgers sent 24 scouts to this event...and don't be surprised to see GM's, "advisors" and a ML manager or two.

One of the reasons the scouts favor this event is it's like a circus for them...all of the players under one tent vs having to travel all over N Atlanta to different venues to watch a player. At Jupiter they jump into their golf carts and scoot to one field after another. If you want to see which players are being heavily scouted just check out how many golf carts are at that field.

Make no mistake, this is an invitation only event for the teams participating. If they don't do well, they aren't invited back. So you better have college ability players on your team.

The summer event is BIG!...The Jupiter event is THE tournament. It's the one that the teams invited prepare all fall for.

It's also where dreams are made! Players, never under any radar, can leave Jupiter with Pro Scouts phone numbers...and an influx of college personal letters.

I would post pictures but TBR is being updated behind the scenes and that feature is down

Sorry Braves, I meant to say the PG WWBA Underclass World Championship in Fort Myers, not Jupiter. It makes sense that the Jupiter event would be considered the granddaddy. Does anyone have opinions or observations on the the Fort Myers tournament as far as college scouts?

Oh okay...yes, I'll repeat in public for others to read. The Fort Myers event is the junior Granddaddy . With the advent of early signings, this event is heavily scouted. However, it is scouted by D1 schools, nationally and regionally. It is very rare to spot a D2 school attending.

Regardless of son's potential, it's still a great experience because you get to evaluate your talent against many of the best across the country. If he can compete at this level...he will have a bright future with a strong D1 program.
