With all the organizations (ASA, NSA, WFC, AAU, Top Gun, ISA) that have fastpitch tournaments what is the best one or most preferred.

nothing beats ASA for stiff competition or top level teams, but each of the different organizations offer something for specific age groups and talent levels.

just starting out with a young inexperienced team? try AAU, WFC or NSA in the younger age groups 10-12-14. plenty of tournaments to get your feet wet with teams of the same talent level, with some having "A" and "B" divisions.

I dont know much about top gun and havent been to many ISA tournaments, so someone else will have to give their opinion on that.

At 12u we use to play some ISA tournaments they were pretty good tournaments. We used to play a team out of NC. named Somkey Mountain Sting a good bit, they used to come down to Georgia a good bit and play. At 14u and 16u we play a lot of ASA.

TOP GUNN and AAU are the same people, normally played in Concord NC and other areas in NC. A lot of ASA NSA and WFC also play AAU. Ck their web site...

You can Premier Girls Fastpitch to the list. First year and they are challenging ASA in the older divisions....specifically, Gold.

what is best for the players

You have to balance costs, but when and if possible the best thing you can do for your players is to build their resume's and experience in the better ASA events. When looked upon by college coaches, they prefer and want to see players from teams who have strived for ASA nationals. You can play in other sanctions, but make sure your emphasis is ASA and your team goal is ASA nationals. As long as you do that, you will be OK.

Most of the teams that play ASA on a regular basis are the more organized and serious teams with higher goals for their players.

Yes, we have played at several locations in Georgia quite a bit. Great competition. Every park we played at was top notch, nice facilities and we were always treated well with good southern hospitality. It is definitely worth the trip. Great place to go for competition in the spring because they play high school ball in the fall so come spring time they are ready to play good competitive travel ball. I believe most were ASA.

Come to think of it, i'm not sure what southern state or ballpark, or organization the Smokey Mtn Sting didn't play at!
