Fat Friday 2004

    East Burke or Freedom?


    East Burke 10-0
    Freedom 7-2.

    Freedom lost to (according to the Massey ratings....) the #2 4A school in the state and the #1 2A school in the state.

    East Burke has played 10 teams- beating them all. Only 3 of those 10 teams have winning records. Hickory is the 28th ranked 3A school; Hibriten is the #23 ranked 2A school and South Caldwell is the #50 ranked 4A school.

    Again, according to Massey.... Freedom is ranked 16th on offense- EB is 53rd.
    Freedom is 26th on defense, East Burke is 21st. As far as strength of schedule- Freedom is 28th, East Burke- 81.

    East Burke is going for it's first and only undefeated season. Freedom would love nothing more than to be the spoilers.

    It's obvious....

    I have seen both teams up close and personal. Freedom is by far the better team, when they hold on to the ball! However, this is a rivalry game and sometimes that means the unusual will happen.....I just don't see East Burke coming out of this one unblemished. Great year for the Cavs, but Freedom wins this one.

    freedom by 21....they be will pumped for this game...and will play very well...and from playing both teams...east burke will not be able to handle them

    Like several others, i've seen both teams up close and Freedom is by far stronger and faster but East Burke seems to know how to win. However i doubt they'll find a way to win here unless Freedom makes several mistakes.

    Well the series is tied at 15 games apiece.
    Win or lose, East Burke has accomplished one thing no other EB team has done. 10-0 Going for 11-0. East Burke has never won 11 games in one season.
    It should be some game. East Burke's defense has played very good lately. If EB can keep it close in the 4th quarter, I think they can pull it out. I know everyone is pumped for this game and you better get there early. Good luck to the players and coaches on both teams and make this a game to remember.

    well well well

    well i believe everyone who has read what i have posted on here before knows how i feel about east burke... my uncle said they are going to win because freedom has about 3 of their top players out... but u know i would be more afraid of that becuz a team like that... when they have a top player out... then EVERYONE steps up their game and they play even more as a team and together and then theres no stopping them.. but as already been said.. this is one of the best rivalries around but i still say freedom will come out on top and blow the perfect season for the cavs.. i say freedom by around 10 or 14....... 28-14 or 24-14....

    JV SCORE???

    Speaking of East Burke and Freedom, anyone know how the JV game came out tonight? Freedom was looking to run the conference, and I was just wondering if they did. Come on someone out there must know!
