Hats off to Freedom for running the table on the conference. Great job East Burke on the 10-1 season as well. South Caldwell and Alexander Central, congrats to you also for turning around your programs and having very successful seasons. I want to wish all the NW4A teams the best of luck in the playoffs. It was a disappointing year for my Rockets, but we put a VERY young team out there on the field, and I am sure we will be back and hopefully joining you in the playoffs next year. Again, good luck and know that we are pulling for you! :xyzthumbs

    playoff brackets

well to save everyone trouble of posting.. I was just going to let everyone know that you can find the playoff pairings on IHIGH.com at 3... they wont be official until 6 but at 3 is when the first pairings come out and then if there is any changes then it will be corrected and posted again at 6. Just thought I'd say congrats to everyone who had a successful season and to south for one heck of a football game in t-ville last night. I expect all of our teams can and will make some noise in the playoffs... GO NW4A! but most of all go AC hehe:xyzthumbs

How about giving us the real story of the AC Reynolds team this year. Have heard rumors but not the facts.

I am going to be honest with you, I don't know what you have heard or what you might be talking about. However, we only had 10 Seniors, and 10 Juniors. We started 5 Sophomores on defense, and five of our first six opponents (Asheville, Owen, TC Roberson, East Burke, and Freedom) combined to go 46-5, not to mention that Alexander Central and South Caldwell also went 6-5 and 7-4. So playing good teams with a very young team really hurt us, and early in the season we got beat by three VERY GOOD TEAMS Asheville, Owen, and Roberson, which really hurt their confidence and they never really regained it. Our numbers were down because of two factors some guys (4 or 5) who normally played football decided to play fall baseball, and also we had a some injuries early in the year that cost 3 guys the season, and all of them were key players. Not to mention we had 4 quit during the year who although they didn't see extended playing time, they did play and contribute, but once we lost a few they bailed. So overall, we will be fine in my estimate, our JV's performed well, finishing 5-1 in conference play, our TB Willie Harper will be back next year, all of our top 5 tacklers return from this year, including our leading tackler who was a Sophomore. The one thing I think we need is an endowment game to get some confidence early in the year prior to playing Asheville, Owen and Roberson. Tell me what you have heard, I would love to hear the rumors you have heard.
