I have a couple quotes I have heard on pick off moves

1st. Turn the mound. That quote is good if he picks off 3 times in a row

2nd. If the pitcher gives a bad move you usually hear "not his best" but more recently its been "not his worst"

I will never forget my own high school coach (the late Bernie Edwards- Northwest Cabarrus HS) who won a state title, had one state runnerup, and about 9 conference titles in 11 years back in the 70's. He once was telling us how we should "never make the first out at 3rd base or home",,, then as he added "never make the 3rd out at 3rd base or home either",,,,, then I guess for good measure, he just paused and thought about it, and he said "that goes for the 2nd out too"...
