I'm putting together this year's playlist for the ballpark. I have a good supply of songs already, but was hoping for some new songs, or some older songs I might not already have thought of.

Of course I already have the "Welcome to the Jungle", "Crazy Train", "Jailbreak", and all the CCR, Lynard Skynard, Alabama, Boston, and Twisted Sister you can think of, and even Bruce Springsteen, The Who, and Kenny Rogers.

I would really like some more current songs like the new Kenny Chesney "Tonight, Tonight" and last year we added "All I do is Win" by DJ Khaled.

    Ideas?

    Thanks for the help.

Must have "Centerfield" in that list, John Fogerty.

    Play list...

    Ours is a pastoral game...
    G & R?
    Black Eyed Peas?
    DJ Ka-whatever?

    What is the deal?
We clubbin', barrin', or playin' ball?

As always, I'm ducked and covered, so have at me :51:.

You forget I am asking for suggestions, not a rating. If I put this list together and said "Everyone tell me how awesome my playlist is" then I would understand your posts. If you don't like what I play, then how about suggesting your favorites. That was my intention here!

I let the guys pick their own walkup song, as long as it is clean. That's where DJ Khaled and some other songs came from.

And yes, we already have Fogerty's Centerfield.

My comment was intended generally - not to any one person.
    Sorry to offend.
However, I'll take it a step farther...
Walk-up songs for teenagers? I even question it for pros.
And yes, I know I'm a 50's transistor radio mindset in an '11 ipod world.
(But I was only born in 70...)
    I should rename to VANILLA.

    Oh, I forgot...

    Favorite song:
"Homerun" by Geoff Moore and the Distance.
Jesus beating the devil... my favorite for sure.

I understand your thoughts on the walkup songs. My best response would be that our high schools are in two different worlds.

My kids are not necessarily "intrinsically motivated". Sometimes I have to help them enjoy the game, because mediocracy is not always enjoyable. It gets them excited about the game. A lot of my players are soccer players who run down balls in the outfield and do their best to hit, or who can't afford the lessons, camps, and extras that allow many of us to be blessed with experienced players and talent. I want to win, but my kids have to want to be there for us to do anything worth remembering.

I'm thinking that your kids want to play in college, have been taught quite a bit before they get to you, and you can focus on the details that I cannot.

Now I am building towards that, but we are not there yet. Small town school, not known for baseball... you may be familiar with the situation, or may not, I don't know your history.

By the way, no offense was taken, but the posts were taking off in the wrong direction, I was trying to get them back to the topic I was going for, and thanks for your suggestions, they are currently downloading.
