    Guys, I am really jealous. Up north, we just started Pitchers and catchers on Monday, 2/23. Everyone else starts on 3/9. First game is 3/30. ARRRGGGG.

    the interest to play HS ball has to start before a kid goes to HS. Middle school, rec ball or travel ball. A feeder program of sorts. WE had 24 at tryout . Hoping to have our first JV squad.Some of the girls had NEVER played softball before. Did not know how to throw, catch or hit. It was a painful decision but having a JV team just to have a team is not a good idea.

    Not sure.....

    I am not sure as to the reasoning behind any player missing practices during tryouts. I know that there are many other schools that say if you miss one day....see ya next year, tough luck. Also, there are other sports at the school that require the students to attend all tryout dates, UNLESS getting a physical or approved absence from school. Our coaches have inherited a struggling program and are trying too hard to please everyone and keep girls coming out.
