    Manteo 10 South Granville 7

Manteo beat South Granville 10-7. Manteo was up 2-0 going into the fourth inning when May scored Campbell on a double in the lcf gap to make it 2-1. In the bottom of the fifth South Granville scored two runs to take a 3-2 lead going into the 6th. Manteo scored 1 in the 6th and the score was 3-3 going into the top of the 7th. Freshman Pratt Maynard pitched his heart out but hit the lead off man in the top of the 7th and with one out and the bases loaded was lifted for Soph Jon Lynch. Manteo proceeded to get 5 hits and scored 7 runs to take a 10-3 lead. In the bottom of the 7th SG got a grand slam by Eric Campbell (4-4) 2 2b I single and HR on the night. South Granville loaded the bases again and with the winning run at the plate a strike out ended the game. Manteo made one error and SG had one as well. It was a very well played game by both teams. Manteo was clutch all night long with RISP. Our guys never quit and fought till the end. It really hurt us that our #1 Chris Luck was not able to pitch due to a nagging ankle injury all season long. But take nothing away from Manteo they got the hits everytime they needed them. We had a great season 21-4 and like all the teams thay lost tonight we hated to see our season end. Good luck to all the teams still playing.

Coach Evans congratulations on a great win over a quality opponent. Good luck Friday night we are all pulling for you guys.
