Matt Holt hit 2 home runs and had 4 RBI's, Marcus Brown went 3/3 with a homer and had 3 RBI's...Brett Eibner went 4/5 with 2 doubles, and Chris Kott, David Shambley and Cory Tilton each had 2 hits as the Falcons advance to Round 2 of the playoffs. Green Hope improves to 19-7 and have won 13 out of their last 14.

Great season for you and Kevin!! I was pulling for you to advance a long way. The future is very bright for you though going 3A will make it tougher, you will be prepared for it!!

 

Person Rockets

Thanks Steve we really had a great year. We are excited about moving up to the new conference. Our players are too. Ive been in the playoffs 8 out of the last 9 years and we have beaten teams that were more talented than us and we have been beaten by less talented teams. In a one and done situation you just never know. You only have to be better one night. Manteo was well coached and they battled at the plate. My hat goes off to them because they deserved the win they earned it. Our guys played their hearts out and fought the whole game. Sometimes the ball just seems to find a hole everytime and sometimes you hit it at people. It just seemed that everytime they hit it it found a hole. But thats baseball we will survive and work even harder. We do have a bright future with the young guys we have coming back. We started 4 15 year olds this year and they were tremendous for us on the hill behind the plate and at the plate. Like I told them after the game I didnt hurt for myself I hurt for them. Alot of tears left on that old field last night after that game Ill tell you that. But we will be stronger for it as players and as young men. Steve good luck Friday night. Ive said it all year you guys have a chance to have a great run. You have the arms to play with anyone. Good luck and we will be pulling for you and your guys. (People may ask why?) Because the Person Rockets are a class group of young men. They are gracious in defeat and victory and they play the game with passion. GOOD LUCK

 

My Two Cents Worth to Coach May and South Granville

Coach May, On behalf of us Parents of players at Person I would like to express a BIG THANK YOU for your comments about our young men!! And I promise you we feel exactly the same way about your ball club and your Coaching staff. Your team is a Class act and we look forward every year to seeing you guys. I was pulling hard for you guys and watching the results and was saddened to see you get knocked out. But thats the way it goes and you start working hard for next year. Your tears of saddness were shared with our tears of Joy lastnight in a heck of a win for our club. It was a hard fought game and you are right......we had passion last night!! It was a great TEAM win. Thank you again for wishing us the best as we always do for you and your guys!! Look forward to seeing you I hope next year!!!
