Elkins also looked really good at the plate against Myers Park in the opener. People in this area have known about Elkins' abilities for a while, as he was a truly dominant hitter and pitcher in his youth baseball days. He has to be among the top '07s in our area.

    Man, I wish I knew.... Wasn't there.

Clint Gamage picked up the win, Zack Rosenbaum the loss. Derek Yow went 2-4 for East Gaston. Ben Heath went 2-2 and John Kellett went 1-3 with a HR for North.

There wasn't much hitting by either team from what I've heard.

Brian Parker and Tim King combined on a 5 hit game. King got the win with
2 1/3 innings of relief. King struck out 4 in that span.

Dallas Tarelton was 1-2 with a solo HR, Taylor Clotz had a 2B with an RBI and Parker had a big 2 run single to break things open in the 6th.

Piedmont hosts West Stanly today @ 4:30.

Need to make correction to the Varsity Butler/North Meck score. It was 4 -3 North Meck.
