I will be in the Charlotte, Gastonia, Shelby area for much of next week.

The beauty of Spring Break Tournaments - I get to see 72 teams in 9 days. Thats around 1,000 players in 9 days.

I wish everyday I could see 8 teams on one field in the same day. I'd see everybody 2 or 3 times each season.

On another note, I can't say I'm the "TBR" Food Judge... Well, I guess I could be if you wanted me to "Braves?"

Shhhh....let's don't tell them or they will do something special at each school. We want to judge them fairly, so we can present the 1st TBR Food Critic Award to the deserving school.

On a serious note, thanks ImpactBB for your continued efforts to improve, enlighten and aid not only the Easterners, but the Western ballplayers too. Your time and sacrifice has been duly noted by the people of this board and we wish to thank you for all your effort.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you.

    Thanks again

ImpactBB! If you want food in the Shelby area, you must try Bridges BBQ or go to Cherrryville for the famous "lottaburger" at the Shake Shop.

I was going to earlier but didn't and then spacedawg did and then gonzo did so I thought that I would put in a plug for Bridges BBQ Lodge in Shelby as well.

    Bridges BBQ Lodge
U.S. 74 Bypass across from the Cleveland Mall, Shelby, NC
    (704) 482-8567. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

My family was taken to Bridges BBQ Lodge in Shelby quite a few years ago by a bbq connoisseur. Tim Turner originally from Charlotte, NC who moved a couple of years ago to Chimney Rock to open up the Cajun Pig Restaurant, always and still does like Bridges' BBQ in Shelby and still frequents Bridges regularly on the road down from Chimney Rock to Charlotte on business.

Bridges' is just a small family owned bbq business with not a lot of frills and atmosphere but...their bbq is good! So...I guess that Bridges BBQ Lodge in Shelby is really getting some very good plus free advertisement here!

It's absolutely mandatory to try the:

'Bama Bayou Burger Barn when you are traveling to Shelby from Charlotte. The specialty of the house is Chitlin Ravioli, served in a Vinegar BBQ sauce with a side order of Lemon Grass, saute-ed in corn squeezin's and topped with Mountain Osyters, pan-fried in Lard.

    Now THAT's Good Eats
