There's nothing Devin does that surprises me. I told the Wingate coaches that he is a "gamer" and to watch out for him. What does he do? He won games wih his bat and glove.

Devin Presnell is a player you have to watch several times to understand how good he is. All during HS he would always rise to the occassion and make the big play or key hit to win games, but the college coaches always looked at his size and dismissed him. They failed to see what makes this young man different than others. The Mars Hill coach gave him an opportunity and Devin seized it. He's developed into arguably the best SS in the league and has been named the captain for his leadership.

It's a shame that college recruiters don't have the time to recognize the "intangibles" some players bring to the table. They may not fit their profile of what a college player should look like, but they more than make up for it with grit, tenacity and a will to win and compete. They hate losing and are willing to do whatever it takes to help their team win......and for those type players, they come in all sizes.

Good job, Devin "The Sabre Killer" Presnell.
