I don't have time to write about our practice today since I just wrote a somewhat lengthy response to "you make the call...", but I figured that I would reiterate a little bit to what has been touched on in previous posts. GET IN SHAPE. If you think you are in shape, get in better shape. If you are sitting around watching T.V. for hours, and you are serious about playing college baseball or even if you have already committed, you are preparing yourself for a very rude awakening. I was lucky to have it embedded into me my freshman year of high school by my dad and Mike Shildt.

My point being and I am telling you players out there, you are not in shape and it is not all your fault. But I hope when you read this post, you take it further than getting off of the computer and going out for a run today, because it is not a one day process...it is EVERYDAY. "Never be satisfied with how good you were yesterday." Each day is an opportunity to better yourself and it could make the difference in your team winning the conference and winning the regional. You never know until you do it.

I'll end this post with a quote that I once heard from Bill Walton, "Failure to prepare is preparing to fail."

My names Craig Earls, graduate from Myers Park with Woody and Wilson and I am a pitcher right now fro Wingates developmental team hoping to get moved up later in the season. Practice started a week into school along with try-outs for walk ons such as myself. try-outs were your average pro try out but conditioning was a bit more than expected. A LOT of running especially for pitchers. we just recently started hitting the weights and go from practice at 3 to weights at 6 and then to study hall. i threw my first collegiate game on sunday against the Anglers which is a fall club from richmond with D-1 high school prospects or so they said. i threw 3 innings, 1 unearned run, 2 hits, 2 walks, and 4 k's. For anyone interested in Wingate I love it here, great campus, a little small but everyone knows each other and a great ball field and coaching staff. If your interested just email me at [email protected]. ill try to keep everyone updated as the season goes on.

Yeah, all you do all day is baseball or schoolwork. There's not much time to do anything else. You better really love baseball because in college it's hard hard work.

Second: Don't pay any attention to CC's post....all he would do is play baseball and study anyway :)

As the President of the Woody's Wacko's...Jere's Kids..Rob's Mob..Goose's Gang...and now Earl's Pearls...I will be a very busy person this spring...Better have the TBR Bus in working order

Any truth to the rumour that all of us members of Rob's Mob get free tickets to Davidson home games?! Are you "listening," Rob?!

Another "vicious" rumour: That baseball players at Elon, UNC-Asheville, Charlotte, South Carolina, Appalachian, Lenoir-Rhyne...and other "area" schools...have computers that lack keyboards! We know they read...but they never seem to contribute!
