:trophy: Forbush 10-runs West Lincoln to take 2A Western Regional Championship!
    DSC_0225.JPG

Forbush 13 - West Lincoln 3 With the crowd at full capacity, senior, lefty, Ryan Allred toed the rubber in game 3 for the Falcons scattering 5-hits and striking out 12-Rebel batters in 6-innings of work! Once again Bryan Renegar was the man of the night mashing a 3-run, 3-RBI homer in the 3rd cranking up the Falcons offense with hits by Drew Williard, Corey Norman, Bryan Renegar, Justin Moody and Daniel Davis. Kolby Epley, Zach Cannon, Nic Hardy and Jayme Matthews also supplied runs with timely walks and great base running. The game ended on a 10-run mercy rule when Corey Norman hit a frozen rope single to left field scoring Drew Williard. Paul Finger, Chris Henderson, Jake Watts and Michael Wise supplied hits for the Rebels. Kolby Epley would get the 3rd out of the 1st-inning throwing out Jake Watts as he attempted to steal 2nd. Jake Watts started on the mound for the Rebels pitching 3-innings allowing 3-hits, walking-3 and striking out 3 before being relieved by Chris Henderson (game #2 pitcher). Henderson pitched 1-2/3 innings allowing 1- hit, walking-3 and striking out 0 before being relieved by Daniel Smith who allowed 4-hits, 5-walks, and striking out 1. The Falcons came together as a team and everyone worked together to get this win. It was a great 3-game series West Lincoln and we respect your athleticism, you got game! The Forbush Falcons wish to express their gratitude to the school and community who turned out in full force in support of the team. We ask that you continue to support your Falcons as they head to the State Championship games. Note: I apologize for any eroneous entries...

    Congrats

Sounds like you have a great team and are the favorites to win the State title.

    Favorites?

No disrespect to Forbush Im sure they have a great team. But the defending 2A champions have to be the favorites coming into this series. With all of there pitching returning that won it last year they will be tough to beat in this one. Good luck to both teams.

Forbush is a great team, that's why they're in the finals. However, I think last year's Owen team (West representative) was better than this year's Forbush team. Forbush has no one with the pitching capability anywhere near that of Steven Hensley (drafted 44th round, SoCon pitcher of the week twice this year as a freshman) and NL beat Hensley by a couple of runs last year. Owen was also flat out awesome offensively. I think this series might go three games, but I think NL is the odds on favorite.

    North Lenoir

Sowers Jr Sutton Jr Alphine So , when you can throw these type of pitchers at someone look out. There is a reason they won it last year and most of those reasons are still around. You just dont score alot of runs on NL and they have the experience factor working big time. Im not saying that Forbush has no chance they could in fact win this thing. But if your going to call anyone a favorite it has to be NL. Good luck to both teams.
