Great game Forbush won 1-0 in 8inn. Top of 8 with speed up rule Forbush bunted moving their runner to third and scored on a ground out to the right side..text book ball...Hopewell was unable to move their runner until there was 2 outs.. everybody sees a game a bit differently, but in the last inning I thought the Forbush pitcher was able to move her game up in the zone making the bunt much more difficult, while the Hopewell pitcher stayed down. If there are better teams in NC let me know because I will Travel to see them. Both should be favored to repeat with Hopewell facing greater depth in competetion in 4A...Forbush can say today that they may be the best team in NC..but if they were to play again I will drive 4 hours to see it ..they are both so even and so good....Hopewell was gracious in defeat but I could tell this will strengthen their resolve. Central Cabbarus looked very good as did North Davidson, both will make serious runs at the state level. At this point nobody in WNC can handle these teams but the season is young and good coaches develop..welcome burnit and hi missile builder

    Rabbit,

thanks for the compliments on this post. I was so proud of the way Forbush played yesterday. I thought early in the game we played a little tight, but as the game wore on we gained alot of confidence and started believing, "we might actually beat this team".....

Just how good are the twins? WOW!!!!! I have watched them play before but never up close and personal. We have faced some good pitching over the last couple of years, but nothing that can even compare to what we saw yesterday. She was so dominating from the start that I was wondering if we would ever put the bat on the ball. That drop or drop/curve is a pitch that can not be hit, especially if the blue is giving generous corners. And her sister has such a quick release and a cannon to go along with that release.

As for thier batting line-up, I thought they were solid at every position. Speed at 1,2, and 9 to go along with power in between. Mrs. Angel pitched a gem and she worked her butt off on every batter. I hope she will start getting a little more attention from the upper level division 1 schools in our state, because she truly deserves to be considered in the top 3 or 4 in NC.....

Great post and it was a wonderfully played game by both teams! Thought the Falcon team wanted the Win more than the Lady Titans.........excitement in their eyes, vocal, hustling compared to a quiet, reserved and somewhat less driven sqaud coming off an emontional conference game(CC)the nite before. They just did not know the talent(underestimated perhaps) or desire and determination of a Good Forbush team, out to prove something; not just to themselves!

Angel's rise and change up seem to me to be her best two pitches and worked well with the Hopewell lineup with their potential power hitters and their speed! Outstanding job to Angel, catcher, the staff and most importantly to the Forbush Team!

In reference to Ervin(NC State signee), her drop is her best pitch but noticed the others she threw were not as effective(movement) and she knows its a tough pitch For Most female softball players to hit! I have to disagree on not being able to hit it(just... its the Hardest thing to teach female athletes). We have got to teach hitting from the middle of the plate and Out to get future players to the next level of hitting!

But regardless, got to love those umpires that know the plate has corners;) as I personally like several drop pitchers on the roster, as well as couple of power rise/screwball pitchers but the Droppers need that from blue inorder to be effective.

Again, thank you guys for your insight on the game, players and teams and Thats what makes TBRock. Do contiune to feed us area scores and results!

Each pitchers performed well and hope they contiune to work hard towards their college goals as it does not get any easier at the next level, D2 or D1. GOOD LUCK this week Forbush and Hopewell.
