For those of you that remember or have heard about Eafton Hill that played at Watauga 1995 - 1999 (when Watauga was always competing for the top 2 slots and were sectional champs), she just accepted a new position at Missouri State.

She played ball at Wake Forest (2 years) and Drury University (2 years and All-American I believe).

Congrats Eafton!!!! You are a fine young lady!!

    WHS WOMEN.....

I hate to inform you about this, but with the exception of 1997, when they blew it down the stretch and lost the conference title and finished third, the watauga women have always struggled in the NW4A:

    1995-96: 1-9 nw4a
    1996-97: 7-3 nw4a
    1997-98: 5-5 nw4a
    1998-99: 2-8 nw4a
    1999-00: 5-5 nw4a
    2000-01: 3-7 nw4a

they've had all of one winning season in the nw4a since then. they're overall record in conference play since 2001-02 is 41-109.

Blew it down the stretch huh..... A loss to Crest in Overtime threw 3 teams into a tie for 1st that year. They were the 3rd seed by virtue of a draw..... Winning the Sectionals is far from blowing anything down the stretch.....

    your right.....

they did win the sectional and gave greensboro page a run in the regional opener, but they didn't have a strong bench. if i'm not mistaken, they only had about a seven-player rotation that year. what a shame hill fouled out against page. they could have won it all. but since then, they've struggled for the most part and this year should be no different. also, keep in mind, mcdowell was upset by east gaston. had mcdowell won that game, whs would not have advanced.
