Freedom played a great game and should be congratulated. Winning with Kincaid on one leg (didn't even play 4th quarter) was a great accomplishment. Ford was remarkable--hottest shooting from a high school that I've seen in a long, long time. He did not, however, win nany admirers in Boone with his constant trash talking. Would love for WHS to earn a rematch in the conference tourney.

 

and ford dad is from boone wish he had stayed up here they were talking about that his family were from boone on the radio.would like to see them play again to.i went to school with his dad at watauga played alot of ball him and his brother back in the day.

 

i would have talked trash too, with all the stuff the WHS fans and players were saying to our guys.

 

There is a line where talk is just talk and when talk becomes dirty. Ford crossed that line. If you score 30+ points let your play talk for itself.

Watauga is always a spirited bunch and the crowd is there to get in your head. Athletes should be above that however there is a line on players that should not be crossed. But hey, Watauga hasen't had any fans thrown out of games this year.

That number isn't the same for FHS.​

 

so students, who are the same age as the players, are allowed to say stupid stuff and cuss at the players but if the player says something back, then thats crossing the line ? that makes plenty of sense.

 

No, once again jmundy, you don't understand what was said.

I said that students are there to get in the head of a players (if you don't think Alexander Central's students do that then your delusional). They should not be allowed to cuss at a player but players should not berate fans. Players are held to a higher standard. Players talking to fans is fine and I never said that was crossing the line. But they shouldn't cuss at fans either.

Now I have no idea what was said in Boone by Ford or what WHS students said. But both probably deserved what was said back.
