    McDowell 56 Watauga 33

Not much to report except Watauga is weak. McDowell looked decent for having not played in a week or practiced much either. The rebounding still has to get consistent in order to win those tough games.

I heard Reynolds killed Freedom 78-57. Was this game close at all?
Looks like Reynolds has stepped up and has set their eyes on that trophy and the bragging rights that go with it.

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
ACR was in control for most of the game leading by as much as 13 in the first half, before Freedom came back to cut it to 5 at halftime. Freedom did tie it at 34 in the 3rd quarter, but that was all, they seemed to hit the wall there, as Reynolds run off 11 straight points and put this one away for good. The Lady Rockets were led by Sydney Alexander's 18, Katie Rybacki had 15, and Brianna Worley had 13, Katie McGalliard had 9, Alex Thompson, didn't shoot to well tonight, had 8 points. Freedom was led by Tara Tate with 18 and Leah Barrier with 16, and Scruggs chipped in with 13. The Lady Rockets played a great game from start to finish and proved they are worthy of first place right now in this great conference. NOW, can they stay there......TO BE CONTINUED!

    good job lady rockets

With the blowout of freedom tonight the lady rockets have showed they belong at the top spot in the conference. When they play at McDowell in a couple of weeks McDowell will be considered the underdog for the first time in a while. Maybe that will inspire them to rebound better and play 4 strong quarters of ball but I'm afraid we don't have the post players to compete with the bigger lady rockets.

There is nothing in the bag in this conference! About the game....Well, ACR jumped out to an early lead, by shooting the 3 (Brianna Worley hit 2 big one's in the first), and rebounding well. ACR then promptly got into a little foul trouble after building a 13 point cushion in the second and sent Freedom to the line time after time, which they converted really well there, and ACR took a 5 point lead to halftime. In the second half Freedom came out and cut into the lead and eventually tied it up at 34, and for some reason, that is when ACR woke up! From that point on (approx. 6:00 to go in the 3rd), until the end of the game ACR outscored Freedom 44-23. It wasn't that ACR was hitting the three's either, although a couple did fall, we got lay up after lay up in the 4th quarter, and Freedom to be honest looked like a beat team. Maybe they were tired after playing last night. Although Tate was Freedoms leading scorer, I really was impressed with Barrier. She didn't do all that much the first meeting against us, but she stood out tonight hitting three's when Freedom came back late in the second and early third. All in all, I think ACR was too much offensively for Freedom. Reynolds has too many people that can score. When our leading scorer on the year (Alex Thompson) has 8 points, and is the 5th leading scorer on the night, and you can still beat a team the calibur of Freedom that says something to the depth of scoring ACR has.
