From 0-3 to hosting a semi-final game

    Great job by the Crest High Chargers. What a game last night at Parkland. It was like 2 heavy weight fighters just slugging it out. Crest came out and just marched it down Parklands throat on the first drive of the game to go up 7-0. Crest then picked off the first play that Parkland ran and returned for a TD, but it was called back because of a pen. Crest takes a 10-0 lead. Parkland gets on the board after a costly TO by the Chargers. A huge extra point is missed and the Chargers lead 10-6. Parkland then squibb kicks the next kickoff and recovers the ball. A rec. is left wideopen and Parkland scores again and goes for 2. Thanks to a very alert Brandon Spikes, he knocks the shovel pass down, the conversion is no good. Parkland takes the lead 12-10. The 3rd qtr saw the teams going back and forth with an INT in endzone by Parkland as Crest was driving. On to the 4th qtr and what was one of the most impressive drives I have ever seen. Crest goes on a 22 play drive that even forced Parkland to use a TO which was huge because it left them with only 1. This drive lead to what turned out to be the game winning field goal. Crest goes up 13-12. Parkland gets the ball and starts to drive. They end up having to use their last TO on a 4th and 3 I believe to draw up a play with about a minute left. You knew that they had to get to at least the 10 to try a FG because the kicker wasn't very strong. Parkland comes out after the TO. The Crest side is going crazy and about as loud as I have ever heard, talked to some in the pressbox after the game and had never seen anything like the Crest side. Well in the midst of all this excitement an O-lineman for Parkland jumps offside and puts the Mustangs in a 4th and 8. Coach Kirby then sends Evan Bostic on a stunt on the next play and he gets the sack. The Chargers then take a knee to run out the clock. All the Credit in the world to the Crest players. A lot of them had missed practice this week with the flu, and some of the kids played sick last night. Great job by the Crest coaches with the adjustments they made at halftime time and held the Parkland RB to only 30 yards in the 2nd half. Also awesome job by the Charger faithful and the noise they made last night. One heck of a night in Winston Salem. Now on to HPC, and let's see what happens.

    On a side note, the 3 teams that beat Crest are all in the semi's of the state. Speaks to that tough sch.

    Excellent breakdown smash.Crest played with a lot of heart last night and the fans were behind them like I have never seen.At the end of the game there was a crowd of fans congratulating the players as they left the field and the players really seemed to enjoy that outpouring of support after such a hard fought game.Also liked the dance on the 50 by the players and some of the fans,it was an overall great atmosphere.This has to rate as one of the sweetest victories I have witnessed as a fan.Lets unload on HP Central this week and as fans lets keep up the noise those kids fed off of that last night

    We need that same atomsphere at Crest this week. These kids deserve it.

    HP Central at Crest.....

    Lets go High Point.......they have done nothing but surprise us this postseason and they will continue to do so at Pony Field Friday night......Lets go High Point....Sry I want be there to witness the win by Central but I will watch highlights at work....HP have a safe ride to Boiling Springs and to Chapel Hill.

    You will be glad your at work making money in stead of wasting money on the gas it would take you to get here and HPC COULD SAVE THE TAX PAYERS MONEY by saving gas money from all the buses. No way they come here and win!!!!
