I believe that AK is getting ready to face a pitcher that throws many more CB's than the pitcher from last night.

Braves, not much I can tell you about the game that you can't pick up in the stats. Observations (subjective, of course)... Rose hits with more power. AK has a good pitcher in Darnell (good luck to him in college - lesson one will be keeping emotions in check). Ak plays hard, but so does Rose. AK certainly appears as though they deserve to be here.

If this game is played in a HS park, several balls fly out of the park. The errors equaled out. Its good to see steele hitting the ball when it counts (as he's the DH).

I think it went 8, because both teams were so jacked up, it took 3 innings to settle in. I don't think the nerves will be as intense today, as they have a game under their belt.

And Southern01 might actually enjoy watching the game today Rm vs ER. The 7 innings of stress was obvious after the game yesterday...lol It took it's toll on him, but it didn't take him long to find his way to Cattails... lol

Should be a really good game today. Rose playing for the win and AK playing to survive to a game 3. I think Rose has the edge here in pitching depth, if a game 3 is necessary. But I think the players know now that running one out of the park is left to an elite few and the ball will be driven hard into the gaps today. Rose definately smoked the ball into the gaps last night.

Overall, regardless of who you are a fan of, you have to be impressed with the level of play in this HS Championship. 3A and 4A. Baseball is alive and well... it may just be a matter of where you live or go to school, but it is alive and well. And being played right.

Thanks Diesel. I knew you would provide an insight that i couldn't get from the boxscore. I believe Coach May is right...Rose is bigger and stronger. We'll have to wait and see if that continues to make a difference.

Great observation on Darnell. At times, that has been a problem for him. He gets too hyped. That's why if a team can get on top of him, they usually do it in the early innings. But, he is young and he will learn to channel that at the next level. The thing I love about him are for the same reasons he gets a little too pumped up early. He wants to compete. He loves the competition. He is a bulldog. He can get emotional...all the things you love about a pitcher that battles, he has it. Now he will learn to control it. I love that kid, though. He is fun to watch.

I wish I could see a game that Jim Legget is pitching. It would be a hoot to watch Q. I may have to put him into the pitcher's parent Hall of Fame. Man, do I have some stories about those guys (of course, not me).

Is Massey, Brack Massey's 'lil brother? Wow, it's in the genes!

Jordan Darnell is quite a good pitcher. This loss for AK "hurts". Rose must be a very talented hitting team.
