    ND a Special Bunch!!!!

I'll be the first to admit that I have a ton of respect for these young men. I have only been able to announce a few games for them, mainly because of the success of both North's baseball and softball teams playing each and every NCSHAA playoff game at home on the same nights, but in those few nights, I have seen this team show the poise and character that as a parent I could only hope my kids have when they grow up. They pull together...they support one another...and they never, EVER give up. I have noticed those traits within the ND student body this entire school year while announcing football and basketball games as well...they support one another...no matter what game is going on.

And what do you think the first thing the baseball team wanted to do after picking up the win tonight??? They wanted to get up the hill to support the ND softball team who, at the time, were down one run going into the bottom of the 7th. The Lady Knights won...and the guys from the ND baseball team were the first to congratulate them!!!

This bunch of athletes...both men and women...are a special bunch...and I hope that my two kids grow up to follow in their footsteps as they grow into those Black Knight uniforms.

And hopefully I will still be announcing then too!!!

I would like to thank the ND baseball team and coaching staff for allowing me to be a part of these special NCHSAA games...it has been a privelage!!!

Hope everyone will make this game. Last home game for a special group of SC players. Better get there early though it won't surprise me if this one is a 5 inning yawner. I think the big question for this game is will ND get a hit. They are a good little team but they woke a sleeping giant tonight. One other thing I don't think Bumgarner has ever lost a game at SC in 4 years. I know not this year. As a matter of fact SC hasn't lost a home game this year

    Good Luck

This old Pioneer may venture down off the hill to Sawmills on Saturday evening to watch this event between two great teams. Good luck to both programs, but I've got to say "Go Spartans". Bring that title back for the NW4A. Wow, we've come along way....25 years ago you would never have heard anyone from WHS or SC wish the other any kind of luck. Yep....times have changed.

Thanks Roadking for your support! Pete Hardee does a great job at WHS and is well respected by everyone around here. This should be a great game tonight. We need to get off to a great start so I can relax and enjoy the game. I don't need another nail biter like we had last game.

I agree with you coach, but can White pitch today after throwing yesterday? I don't know how many pitches he threw, but it really shouldn't matter. The arm needs more than an overnight rest.

Anyway, I disagree with reporter, the ND team is in this round for a reason; they are competitors....and had Clawson not hit the key SacFly in game 1, then Stansbury's heroics, this series would be over.

Braves I doubt it would be over right now because if we had lost game 1 Bumgarner would have threw yesterday. ND will get to see Bumgarner tonight. That will be enough. I want to give a big thumbs up to Sophmore Cody Penny for his effort in last nights game. He had never been in a varsity game till last night. He came in with no outs in the third and bases loaded. Hie first pitch was hit out for a grandslam but after that he completely shut down ND. Struck out the side one inning and was never even in trouble. And I felt sorry for Brown. He has done well this year but just got off to a bad start and couldn't get it going. ND didn't hit him much he just couldn't get it over the plate and walked several. When he threw strikes they were missing it. Oh well at least we get to see another game at SC. I am not to worried. I wish they could throw White again we were killing the ball off him just got way to far behind to catch up

I hear ya, I just hope that people in SC land don't get too cocky. I guess what I am saying is that ND almost beat Messer (a great pitcher), so anything is possible. No doubt that Madison is Superman, but ND plays like they have some kryptonite. Don't get me wrong....I fully expect that SC will win, but ND has proven themselves to battle anybody and I don't think they will roll over in a 5 inning affair...nope...ain't going to happen.

Braves not cocky just confident. As for ND players they are a very good team and the players and coaching staff have total class and respect in both games and by that have earned the respect of all the SC fans. I can't say that for their fans though. Mostly students I know but they were very bad last night. At one point even an ND parent had to have the police move some disrespectful ND fans. Hopefully they bad ones stay home I know ND has some good fans who want to get respectfully rowdy at the game tonight.

One note on the game ND has never seen what they will TRY to see tonight. I may get in trouble for this with my SC buddies but I'm gonna give them a helpful hint. When you here something SWING, you might hit it. LOL

I have learned through the past years not to provoke the SC fans, the Cherryville fans and the Shelby fans. It's better to say nice things about them in hope that it keeps them quiet. I suspect that will not be the case tonight.

...and the last part about swinging.....haha...classic.

I know one thing. Madison B is hard enought to hit when he is pitching, but if someone provokes him where he intensity and focus raises...watch out! He dials in...and whoooooosh! I don't care who you are, a 96+ FB is not an easy thing to hit. You have to start your stride when Bumgarner is getting the sign from the catcher.
