Put the ball in play early and often. Hope some mistakes are made. Slow down the tempo of the game. Madison likes to work fast so take your time at the plate. He gets stronger as the games go on so don't think you will wait him out.

In the end though my money's on SC. If Madison doesn't beat you their bats will.

Against ER we just couldn't hit the ball.
Against ACR we made some critical errors and didn't get the timely hits. I think we hit 2 homeruns for all of our runs in that game.
It happens to every good team throughout the year and madison just happened to be on the mound for both losses.

One game was because a couple of unforced errors in a row. The other was a solo homerun in a 1-1 game. I think the 5 runs at AC Reynolds (unearned) are the most he gave up this year. I would like to know what his average runs given up per game is earned and unearned combined it is probablly less than 2

He lost them on purpose I heard...he just wanted to throw in a few losses. Maddy figured it would look better to scouts if he threw in a few losses then threw like 17 perfect games, in 17 attempts in the minors. It's just a plan...he has it all figured out.

SC lost to East Rutherford 2 - 1 because we only had 4 hits in the game with Madison going 3-3 and 1 other guy manufacturing 1 hit. Credit goes to Ryan Leach for pitching a great game but you are not going to win many games with only 4 hits no matter who is pitching.

SC lost to AC Reynolds 5 - 3 in Asheville due to defensive errors. I believe all but 1 run was unearned. SC had some good hits in this game including a monster shot by Madison but couldn't string together consecutive hits when it mattered.

I know Madison's ERA was recently 0.75. He also has over 400 strikeouts now in his high school career.

Makes me wonder what the career high school record for North Carolina is.

I'm looking forward to seeing Bumgarner pitch tonight. Maybe see him hit another moon shot like he did in Thomasville last summer too.

It takes a TEAM to win a game and a TEAM to lose a game, regardless of who's on the mound. Madison's a great pitcher, but he can be hit.

It'll boil down to which team wants it the most tonight. Anything can happen in baseball......
