Game 7,,, Rowan Co. vs. Burlington

RaleighDevil,,,,,, I can only assume, since obviously I'm not there,,,,

either A) at Burlington's field, theres not enough room in pressbox, afterall Rowan does take 2 radio stations with them.

or B) I know when this particular broadcast team has come to our place, they have indicated that they would like to set up a tent in the crowd, they like being in the crowd, the action. I believe I heard one of them say just a minute ago (for whatever reason) they had to take their tent down.

Those are the only things I can think of. Those guys do a super job.

 

GAME CALLED, field was flooded in quick shower, score was reverted back to 6th inning, so Rowan declared winner of series. Tough way for Burlington to lose, but congrats to Rowan County.

Game was called Baseballfan14, radio came back and said that quick shower laid down some heavy water, completely flooding the field. Series over.

 

BTW, the game does not revert to the last inning because the runs scored in the final inning do not change the outcome of the game.

 

Your correct RaleighDevil, either way Rowan had the lead after 5. Tough break for Burlington as I have watched them score a ton of runs in late innings the past week, I don't believe they were finished. Congrats to both teams on a fine season.

 

The only reason I bring that up is that it's a widespread misunderstanding of the rule. In fact, anyone wanting to read it can go to the MLB site and read Section 4 on starting and ending a game.

I have had that happend a couple of times to me. As a scorer, I'm supposed to know those things.

We could play Rowan depending on how things go this week.

Well just got back from the game. Yeah about 1280, they did have a tent up, but a Burlington player (not gonna name any names), said the white tent messed him up?? So they took it down, but I don't know if if would have mattered. The rain was really coming down and the wind was blowing it sideways. Rowan wins none the less and advances to their second straight state tournament. Yes I agree, Rowan will try and rest arms for Gastonia. You might even see some starters take the night off Monday night in Asheboro to get some rest. Congrats to Burlington on a great season, you guys swing the bats like almost no team I've ever seen. I would expect possibly Parker Gobbel to start Monday night or maybe Cody Laws.
