Tigers score 3 runs in top of 1st and build a 5 to 0 lead before rain shows up. Panthers battle back and score 2 in 4th inning at which time game probably should have been stopped due to rain. game procedes into 5th when thanks to 2 hit batters and a double panthers cut lead to 5/4 and have tying run in scoring position as tigers get 3rd out. Things get intense as to whether game should continue or not, ( no matter who you were pulling for conditions were really becomming DANGEROUS). Umps pull both teams off the field and after about 30 minutes of heavy rain game was called. If my book dries out i may add some stats, but hats off to tiger pitcher Robert McKinney for a gutsy performance especially the bottom of the 5th in horrible conditions. I must also compliment Hibriten on the improvements they have made to their baseball park, very nice.

Ravenscroft threw their #3 pitcher Beau Walker. He does have a heckuva submarine delivery. Cole Gonet, son of Rvenscroft AD Ned Gonet, hit a towering shot in the second that easily cleared the wall in Fleming Stadium. Ravenscroft seemed a bit lethargic last night as they go to 11-3 on the year. Their losses were to South Granville and extra inning losses to crosstown rival Cardinal Gibbons and Charlotte Country Day. Ned Gonet was a baseball and football standout at Duke in the late seventies.

    Ravenscroft

We have played these guys for years and its always a lot of fun. They are well coached and always have some very good players. Ned if Im not mistaken used to coach the baseball team. He still coaches football. His son is a very good catcher and has a ton of power at the plate. It sounds like the Ravens have it going. Good luck the rest of the way.

JH ROase @ South Central 4/4

    JH Rose 11
    South Central 1
    5 innings
    WP Mark Wilder
    LP Ethan Cochran

SC scores first (and only) in the second to take 1-0 lead. SC Crowd goes bananas and lights the fire under Rose. The barrage begins with a Daniel Boyd Homerun wayyyyyy into the trees. It's on from there and SC rolls 4 pitchers out trying to stop the onslaught. Done in 5 and SC never really in it after the second trip into the lineup.

    Leading Hitters
JHR Mark Spruill, Matt Steele, Daniel Boyd, Andrew Cain, Gray Garner
