Games of interest today

You're right NC; this is a must win for these teams to stay in the SW4A race for a play-off spot, although both are on the outside looking in at this point. The winner will move to 3-2 and the loser will fall to 2-3. Another key match-up today in the conference is South Meck at East Meck. Both teams are 3-1 in the conference, one game back of 4-0 Providence. If East throws Brett Alter, South may have trouble breaking out of their recent offensive slump. It will be interesting to see whether Brett goes or whether Coach G saves him for Butler on Friday.

 

Rose rolled over New Bern 8-0. Bullock gets the win and Warren the loss.

Rocky Mt. shut out DH Conley 5-0.

 

Davie pitching

Davie does have some good pitching.

Ace junior John Mcdaniel is one of the best in the conference
Junior Brad Corriher can mix it up and hits his locations with ease and is hard to hit solid.
Senior Timmy Erb has come out on all cylinders this year making sure that he goes out with a bang. He has one of the sickest curveballs Ive seen in a long time.
And Sophmore Tom Kuell, a tall lefty with good movement has a lot of potential to do something great. Watch out for his name.

Davie has not been catching any breaks this year, but once they do they will be hard to handle. Hitting and fielding has also been superb lately

 

Independence has another big game tomorrow against Hopewell. This should be a great game to watch with Dusty White probably pitching for Hopewell. Independence is coming off of a big win against Central Cabarrus and look to keep 2nd place in their grasps with a win staying 1 game back of North. Weather permitting....
