    Coaches

Know all three coaches, especially Gabby as we coached against each other for years. He is a truly great guy. The other two have strengths that make them leaders in their conference. I was very impressed with the Kings Mtn coaches knowledge of the game and her relationship with her players. She is a players coach but expects their best. Cherryville coach has been a winner for many years with different talent so must know the game and how to handle players and parents.

Have watched all 3 coaches first hand, practice and games. Gabby and Suzanne run an awesome program. Practice is well run and has direction and purpose. Their teams are better at the end of the season. They both know the game and have their teams well prepared to play and they execute during the game. You have to beat them. On the other hand the Cherryville coach has been blessed with lots of talent through the years. The players that have come through her program through the years have played together during the summer and have had good coaches before they got to high school. If you were there at the Cherryville Kings Mtn. game and saw how the 2 programs went about pre-game warms ups, their mental attitude and how they play the game you saw a very big difference. Direct reflection on the coach. Heard they actually practiced running in and out of the dug out during a practice for 30 solid minutes. Some key players were even thinking of not playing at all this past year and some said they for sure were not playing next year. Ashbrook and Kings Mtn. had better count their blessings because they have a coach who cares about their programs and players and strive to make them better.
