    Saw that Breanna Brown SS from Durham Jordan was named Gatorade Player of the Year. Does anyone know anything about her?? Saw it in the Observer today.

    This is absolutely amazing !!! Has anyone ever heard of her? With all the "known" high school softball talent in North Carolina a girl is selected as Gatorade Player of the Year and no has heard of her. Who selects this award? Have they ever been to a High School fp game in NC????

    Great question! Hopefully someone can shed some light on this young lady. She may have had an awesome year. I am glad I had no vote with all the great players in this state.

    mt.tabor played Durham Jordan last year in 4a playoffs she has great speed to cover lt side and quick arm speed to 1st.Also she is listed on in coming glass to UNC Chapel Hill on scholarship.

    no matter who the choice was somebody wouldn't be happy!! this is still a young lady that had no say in the choice and we should be happy for her!! it isn't like it was a million dollars. :twocents:

    Breanna Brown is an amazing athlete that has played travel ball since she was baout 10 years old. Started playing with Spinners and was on probably the best 12u team (Spinners) I have seen in the 7 years I have been involved with travel ball. Breanna has played with the Flames for the last 2 or 3 years and is considered by many down east as the best shortstop in N.C. Can also catch and play outfield. Has signed to play with the tarheels next year and will probably get a lot of playing time as a freshman. Maybe, you haven't heard of her because you are focusing more on the western players and not the total state. Just wanted to shed some light on Breanna Brown and say she is definitely worthy of such title.
