As the baseball season is finally getting near, i would like to say thanks to a few people who has helped my son on his journey to get to his senior year. From our early days as members of the Mighty Ducks and Carolina Pirates, Tony Dimino, Vic Sciaudone and Marty Shue. AAU organizations, USSSA, or the name of the new youth organizations, Middle Schools, in the Concord area, Marty Shue is a guy that you should have. He knows so much about the game of baseball and teaching the game that he would be a great asset for your child developement. Don Hutchins of the South Charlotte Panthers, Thank you for giving Mikal his first taste of high caliber Showcase games and Organization. Jeff Schaefer Of CBC for always giving Mikal helpful advice, working him out, letting him hit and your baseball knowledge, without ever hesitating, telling him to wait, or asking for anything other than telling us, that anything you guys need just let me know. Andy Partin of the DirtBags, thanks for letting Mikal be part of your great organization, Exsposing him every weekend in front of all the regional and National Coaches and Scouts, having him on teams with some of the best players in the state of NC and the country has truly made him step up his game, become a better player and teammate and taught him how to handle all kinds of pressure that comes with being a player in a top tier organization and the opportunity to become known Nationally in Baseball. Braves thank you for opening up this forum for Parents, players, Coaches in this state can have somewhere to go to everyday, to hear and learn about players from different parts of NC, to vent, to give their opinions, some good some bad(smile). I know this website and the forums have help many kids who might have otherwise been overlook , atleast get the opportunity to continue playing Baseball. This forum is more valuable than you can ever imagine. Finally i would like to thank Alan and Michelle James who is Literally Mikal's second family. They have been there for him in everyway possible, they can get on him, tell him something and he listens. I can say the same thing and i might as well be speaking Japanese. It feels wonderful knowing that if something were to ever happened that Alan and Michelle would raise him to be the best young possible. To all the 2011 seniors I hope your year is a great one, except when you guys play Mallard Creek. I had no doubt that my son was going to be successful in baseball, but being involve with you guys made his High School journey much easier and enjoyable.

You know, you made me reflect in why I continue to do this. It's because of relationships I build with people like yourself. It makes everything worthwhile.

..and one thing I respect above everything else is the parents role in developing their kids. As talented a kid Mikal is, what I appreciate most about him his mannerly, humble character he displays--he's a class act, and that comes from the parents. Kudos in the way you have raised your kids. It's been a treat.

Great message! Chris' words say a lot, but one thing everyone should know.....he truly wants all kids to be successful in their baseball journey and he is very supportive. He brings positive energy to the field and to this message board.

    Your son

is one of the finest young men I have ever had the pleasure to be around. It is a credit to you who raised him to be such a fine young man. I have no doubt he will have a great senior year on the baseball field. And I have no doubt he will go on to have a great career past high school baseball. And there is no doubt that the reason he is such a fine young man is the fact you are such a great father to him. And you did a great job of surrounding him with some outstanding people along the way. Best of luck this season and in the future.

What a great post Pirates 05 and I want to add to what the others have said......one of the real pleasures for me and my son was our interaction this past summer and fall on the Dirtbags with you and your son. Our sons seemed to get along so well because they are alot alike as people - fine young men, look you in the eye when talking, shake your hand with a firm grip - and play and compete like we all want our kids to play and compete. It was said best at dinner the other night that the type of kids they were, what they had going on inside and "how they went about their business" is what leads talented kids to the ultimate successes. Gonna miss those times but will always follow Mikal and you guys and know we will see each other at games again!!
