I know that Glenn is loaded for bear this year with Ryan Marion and Ijames, but I've heard that both of them have been injured this past week.

Does anyone know their status? We hope it's not serious.

Does anyone know how their tournament down in Georgia is going? If you do, please keep us posted.

    Thanks for the update!!!!

Last heard, Marion severely twisted his ankle on a play at the plate last Friday. He was put into a walking cast and according to the Kernersville paper, his season may be in doubt but that may be more speculation than anything. They haven't had any trouble thus far in the season but are yet to face the other top teams in the conference. I believe they are taking the top 3 teams this year instead of 4 to state, so it may be interesting. Some underclassmen like Ryan Caldwell are stepping up to fill some holes left by last year's seniors.

    NCBBallFan,

Up until this year I have coached an AAU team based in Kernersville since 1999 and those players were from all over the Triad area and southern Virginia so I have kept up with most of the area schools but most specifically would be East Forsyth, Glenn, SW Guilford, Parkland, North Forsyth and RJ Reynolds.

    E. Forsyth(4-A) is 1-2 but has a really strong team and will get rolling. They have 2 main starting pitchers, Adam Tesh(Sr) and Ryan Basham(Jr). Basham is the young junior i mentioned in another forum and has a bright future.Coach Pegram backloads all his conf. games till the last half of the season so they have plenty of time.

Glenn(3-A) is undefeated but really hasn't faced anyone yet. Northeast Guilford will probably be their principle competition this year. If Marion has to miss much of the season, then they will have to depend on some underclassmen on the mound but should have no problem reaching the state playoffs again.

SW Guilford(3-A) is hoping Marion is out at least for their games. They are really short on pitching and are starting a couple sophs in the IF to go along with senior Chris Norwood at SS. They are undefeated in conf. as well but have also not seen the better teams yet.

    N. Forsyth(4-A) has an outstanding pitching staff with Gib Hobson and Andrew Larimore along with a freshman stud whose name will soon be getting out if it hasn't already, Addison Johnson. As good as North is on the mound, they are equally bad at the plate. The average score of their games will be something like 4-1
Also, North has more solid players in the pipeline than just about any school around here, including Glenn.

Parkland(3-A) lost their coach from last year which caused half their starting lineup to move to other schools. They will struggle to get back to the state.

RJ Reynolds has a young but talented team. They will probably be up and down this year but will be extremely tough for the next couple of years.
