Huge game for Grace to show everyone what they've got. They have not proven anything yet and here is there oppurtunity. There will be a lot of talent in this game and it should be a great game to watch. If you can make it out you should come to this game.

    Grace vs Wed

Congrats to Grace Academy, what a great atmosphere! Student section was rocking! Weddington Threw two freshman over the first 6 innings, and those guys did a great job. Some defensive errors hurt Wed in the 6th (I think 4) and Grace just continued to apply pressure, stealing bases, taking extra bases. Fun watching a team "push the pace".

Congrats to both teams on an exciting game. Weddingtons two freshman, and one sophomore pitcher will be better for it in the future. Grace got some well deserved recognition and with only one senior on the field Wed is gaining experience that could make them a dangerous team come playoff time.

Weddington is dangerous now. Be hopeful that you don't see Boone or Newsome on the bump the next time around.

    Congrats on the win.

Congratulations to Grace Academy for a nice win. You guys stayed in the game mentally even after you got down 7-1 and you didn't give up.
While true Weddington threw two freshmen and a sophmore, that's not an excuse to taking a loss. The freshman earned their spots on the Varsity and play to win. As stated above... between the two, they did a very nice job. They threw ground balls, but the defense was unable to convert these to outs. I believe only two of the 8 runs were earned. The rest came off of errors in the field (5-7 (depending on if you asked a Mom or a Dad) in the 6th alone. The sophmore made one mistake on the mound and the batter did a great job of making Weddington pay for it.
This game was played between two conference games with Porter Ridge. The night before the starting 2B was taken out while trying to turn a dbl play. As a result Weddington did not pitch their aces, nor did they have the normal starting 2B and #2 in the line up.
These two will play again at the end of the season. I look for this game to be played much differently the 2nd time around. Again, a nice win for a solid Grace Academy team.

Finally Grace Academy gets some well deserved recognition as they do deserve, there is a lot of D-1 talent on this team that needs to be seen. I did not expect Weddington to be as good as they are this year, while there team is young they still are competing day in day out. Will there be another Twisters team this summer that the boys from Grace play on? I know they do well in the Impact tournaments they play in, how's the team looking for this summer?

    Twisters

Thanks to everyone for their comments. That was a great game, one for the books. In answer to the question about the Twisters, Yes we are back for 2010. All the boys that play for Grace but 3 will be in the lineup. We have picked up some quality under classmenn(6) and we will be competitive. We have 5 impact tournaments on our schedule, 1 Past Time sports at Wake and a Perfect Game. If there are quality boys looking for a home we will be looking at more players throughout the next couple of months. Just contact me at 704-989-4794. Grace hasn't had the opportunity to play many quality, well coached teams and I want to say thanks for the opportunity. Teams don't have to play small private schools but it's those teams that reach out their hand to help that I would like to say THANK YOU.
    Go Grace
