Grades and T/B

Not a coaches job

I like it when coaches ask about grades because it reinforces what my wife and I are trying to teach. I don't feel like it's their job to monitor, punish, or ask a kid to leave because of poor grades. Parents own this repsonsibiltiy. I think the above post was very insightful. Many kids do having learning disabilitlies and it's important that you know your kids academic limitations. If a kid really loves softball then it can certainly be used as a "carrot and stick" approach to performing better int he classroom.
