TBR's own, Drew Poulk, (well, maybe not Drew, but his mama is:D) was highlighted in BA's observation of one of the most prestigious national showcases, East Coast Pro. (players are chosen by professional scouts).

Drew, from Morehead City, was the only Carolina player mentioned

    Another Poulk

Drew Poulk's cousin Dallas plays at Pine Forest HS in Fayetteville and can flat rake the baseball. Also very fast on the bases and a fine glove plus mid to upoer 80s off the mound. He is a rising senior. I would expect Dallas Poulk and Mac Read at Lumberton to be the top returning players in the Two Rivers Conference.

    The Poulk boys

My son was fortunate to play with Dallas and Drew this summer on the carolina cubs team. Both of these guys can flat out play. But they are even better young men. They are class acts on and off the field.

One of the things I like best about Drew is the way he battled back from a basketball injury that affected him during the school year. Did he whine about it?......nope, he just kept working hard to put himself in a position to choose to go to any school he would like. That's Character with a capital c

Mine got injured too and it took about a full year to come all the way back from it.

You are coming close to crossing the line about slamming players. Before you cross that line, check out the rosters and most colleges and just see how many players get injured and lose significant time through their college careers.

Injuries are part of baseball and if you have a player, you better get used to it. It's not a question of IF ... it's a question of WHEN. For my dime, I prefer players who have proven they have the gumption and work ethic to get through an injury. You know they don't have any quit in them.
