Great job to all the teams in the Southern Star

Very nice job by all the teams this past weekend in Savannah, GA for the Southern Star Softball Showcase. The level of play and depth of talent amoungst these teams was well noted by the 61 college coaches in attendance. The 94 teams that participated represented players from 12 states.

Thanks for making it another great weekend of softball in South Georgia.

We look forward to having everyone back in 2012.

Injured player update

This is an e-mail I received from the coach from the Lake County Tigers concerning a pitcher who was hit on Sunday during our event. I have had several people ask me to post updates.

Obviously we all pray for a successful surgery and a quick return to the field for her.

"Ty,

Thank you for the email and your concern. As it turns out, Morgan Emerson has a broken nose and fractured left-facial plate. She is going to be okay. She is scheduled to have plastic surgery Wednesday to repair her broken nose and fractured facial bone. A plate will be put in it’s place. The surgeon told her parents that she will look just as she did prior to the hit when he is finished with her. Morgan only wants to know when she can play again. It is a miracle that she survived that line-drive to the face.

Thanks for a good tournament overall. Other than our player being injured, several of our players got some good leads or offers of interest.
